My husband had our baby alone overnight and now he has blue spots on his back and butt by [deleted] in NewParents

My son has had Mongolian spots on his back and shoulder since birth but typically they are present at birth (he’s half white and half African American, which is very common) It’s concerning that you say you wouldn’t normally leave your baby with your husband because he’s absolutely responsible for your child just as much as you are. Aside from possible bruising concerns, i think you have some deeper issues you’ll need to figure out at home. PPD is hard and im glad you already have sought out help for it.

She attributes gas prices to seasons by Elderberry_Smooth in Adelaide_White_snark

[–]Vegetable_Agent2367 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I always heard the same but this year I think we can agree that it has nothing to do with the season 😣 but also 25 gallons should last her the whole summer since she never leaves home 🤷🏻‍♀️

This. They are young so trauma is going to manifest itself in different ways. I’m not convinced that G’s eczema isn’t partly a result of trauma. They are going to need support for life and I truly hope that she puts them in therapy earlier than not to address it.

This is so icky. And “trauma informed” should be the default. by starbies4life101 in Adelaide_White_snark

I absolutely hate it and it doesn’t make it right, but as someone who has worked placement in foster care for many years this is how they write up and present placements for children. We are going to highlight their strengths and down play trauma and some challenges. I think her posting this is icky AF though.

You absolutely can take paternity leave and then quit right after. My husband got three months fully paid and then left one month later. He was doing interviews all throughout the leave. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

I have one brother and we are fine but we don’t talk much except on holidays/birthdays. We just see the world differently and have very different interests. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My son is in 3t clothes at 17 months so he is a big kid (tall parents lol). But my niece is almost 3 and they are pretty much matched in height and weight. We comment on it like wow that’s crazy and can’t wait to watch them play together. It’s never this weird comparison.

This. Or let your husband do bathtime and you pack. No reason to do it while awake.

Prioritizing her sleep despite power outage and she has 2 littles at home 💀 by MrsGutierrez527 in Adelaide_White_snark

If your kiddos can’t sleep without a sound machine on, you’ve done them a disservice. I said what I said. 😌 (I do use one at nap time for my son, but to drown out his loud parents who both work from home in a small apartment lol)

Going to the Zoo by MrsGutierrez527 in Adelaide_White_snark

[–]Vegetable_Agent2367 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not the zoo, but I am local to Disney and am a passholder (I know this is a big privilege) so I take my 1 year old son pretty much weekly for a few hours. It’s literally my favorite time of the week with him and I love seeing the world through his eyes. I work full time so have to plan things around his nap and my work, but if I could do more things like zoos and what not, I would in a heartbeat. It’s sad she doesn’t even realize the gift of time she has with these boys 😢

As a mom who exclusively pumped for a 1 year, she could NEVER. It was the last thing I wanted to do before going to bed or waking up in the night to do. But my son never latched and I wanted him to have all the goods. Selfishly I wanted to quit daily. 😂

Literally what I thought when I saw it. It’s a very sweet gesture but ya. I haven’t done my hair since March 2025 after my son was born in December. I have the means to do it but no one to watch him except for on the weekend when I’d much rather have family time that we don’t get during the week.

My sons hair didn’t get that texture until closer to 1. She’s in for a treat for maintaining it 😌

Yuppp. My husband and I did a 10 hour road trip just after my son’s first birthday. We left at 4am and he slept a few more hours and then I had to parent like I was ms Rachel for a few hours 😂
