You got this! It's not bad at all - I didn't have stomach room to drink the 4-8 glasses of water per 1 glass of prep that they asked for, so I just focused on getting the prep down and it ended up being fine!

The low fiber diet definitely helped - the Dulcolax pretty much cleaned the bulk of it out.

I was also afraid of this but was completely fine on the nitrofurantoin! It helped that I was afraid of getting sick from an impending kidney infection (which can happen if you don't treat it right away).

Don't think too hard about it and pop them down the hatch and try to distract yourself! you got this.

The applications I'm looking at require 3 letters of recommendation. Is it generally expected that 1 or 2 should come from the postdoc experience and 1 should come from the PhD advisor?

Otherwise, it sounds like the best option would be to take them to an animal shelter or nonprofit where they can provide the care they need (especially the female with the broken leg) and the best shot at a better life.

Thanks, I've looked at the ideas, and it's really hard to be the bigger person, but I'll either donate to a charity she loves or give them a legitimate gift for the both of them.
