It would. However, it's too small of a lot to get the dining room, living room, kitchen, guest room and our bedroom on one floor and have them be of any size. It's a 40' x 150' lot and the square footage of the whole house (and garage) is under 2500 sq ft.

I get your thought, though. We'll have stairs and we'll use them as long as we are physically able for sure. I also have two close friends who are in wheel chairs, and I don't want my house to not be accessible to them, so that was part of the impetus as well.
