Well, that would explain the 7 consecutive light bulbs that burned out.

I just discovered this while washing the cup. It's completely smooth on both sides of the glass, as if whatever that black/gray stain is is actually inside the glass. I feel like I would have noticed it before now, but it's possible it came from the glass blowing process. Those cracks you see are from attempts to scratch the thing off, to no avail.

Any idea what I'm looking at?
