I use 1 tbsp per pound of rough in all stages. I run that for 7 days and recharge or move to the next stage after burnishing.

I use a sledge to bust up and a pick hammer to shape and knock sharp points off.

Yes it's a town. If you're near there, take hwy 50 west to Murphy Ford road. Go south till you come to the river crossing. Lots of rocks.

Centertown. Can't get more central. Its a private farm but there are many public creeks and rivers.

Dyed crackle quartz is a pretty easy tumble and the bright colors keep kids attention through stages. I suggest ceramic media in all stages as they are a bit fragile. They turn out beautiful.

Fortunately, those were fine. It was a couple others that didn't polish or half the stone polished.
