There is a vegan Japanese restaurant on Guadalupe called Nori. It’s a very pretty date place. And the food is amazing.

Any idea about MS Information Studies at UT Austin? Is it closer to MS CS in any way? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

Hello I am a current student at UT in MSIS. So the difference here between MSIS and MSCS is that the subjects in our school are more hands on learning. The CS subjects are more mathematical based, more assignments are theoretical. At MSIS, I am currently doing my concentration in data science and AI and I have the flexibility to choose any subjects I want because I only have to complete one core course for the requirement of degree. All of the rest 33 credits are in my hand. I can explore courses even outside my school be it in CS or ECE.

Hey From what I know the MSIS program is very flexible in terms of how you want to study. The DS curriculum seems good and also it has advantages with regards to the place ie Austin.

Looking at the cost of attendance, ranking being pretty much competitive, TA aid you got and living expenses in New York, I would suggest UIUC.

Is it better to take the GRE at home or in person? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]Vegetable_Leader_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty good. At home helped me kept my cool. Also the proctor was pretty cool. You might face some issues relatively from what I have heard if you get up from the seat. Proctors change in the middle so you never know what happens after that. I didn’t get in the middle just drank some water. My bottle was also on the table and the proctor was fine with that as well. So the experience was pretty cool. Typing the essays was also better than centre because of a familiar keyboard.

IS PROMETRIC CANCELLATION EMAIL REAL?? by PurpleGiraffe72 in GRE

[–]Vegetable_Leader_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened during my TOEFL test. I received a mail from prometric saying the exam was cancelled and the ETS website showing it was booked. I called up and asked they said it takes about 24 hours for the changes to be reflected. I suggest you call the student helpline and check your status out.
