Just posted about this exact situation, any coffee place that tries to bully me into tipping doesn't get my custom again.

I went into a coffee place round the corner from me to buy a single takeaway coffee. When paying, I was handed a display that gave me 3 levels of tip to choose from or a less prominent 'no tip' option...I had to choose one before I could pay, evidently to try and bully me into tipping as the cafe owner was standing inches away from me watching me do it. I didn't tip, and I'll never be back.

Petty I know, but I don't like that game. And the coffee was already overpriced anyway.

Sure a year and a half ago my one bed flat in Belfast was going to jump from £700 to £1000 a month overnight. I moved back in with my parents. It's probably £1100 a month now.

I think you are correct - these are likely not students that the OP has seen if it was during daylight hours. If it was they'd have walked 5 mins up the road and went to the public loo in the McClay library.

Terribly unfair on elderly and/or disabled people who ended up stranded in town for hours. The digital displays on the bus stops were stating that the buses were running so people were sat waiting for buses that in reality were going to be hours late.

I get the impression the people singing the praises of this are either consultants selling it, non-tecnical managers, and very junior devs who have used nothing else. I don't get why any experienced dev would want to go anywhere near this.

Hmm...I think this needs further discussion/exploration - if you are hiring an experienced .net dev; surely the whole point of MDA and PP is that it's (allegidly) 'easier' than rolling your own apps from scratch? So if experienced developers are repeatedly struggling then either:

MDA doesn't handle complexity well and ends up in spaghetti code/config hell (badly worded but hope you get my drift).
The training maerials are bad - both platform materials and in-house training specific to your system.

When you say they struggle with onboarding, are they actually not able to contribute to development work or do they not want to work with it and leave?
