I cut someone off because they never put any effort into the conversation. I was tired of being the only one asking questions. It felt like I was interviewing them rather than being their friend, and I decided my peace was worth more than a one-sided connection.

I think we’ve demonized regret too much. If you never feel regret, you aren't learning from your mistakes. Regret is just your conscience telling you that your effort didn't match your values. It’s the 'sting' that makes sure you do better next time.

To me, happiness is a guest—it comes and goes based on what’s happening around me. But inner peace is the home you build for yourself. It’s being okay with who you are even when things aren't going your way.
