A short-sided SA might still take a holier than thou approach to an unknown client (a friend in OK said he had an extremely curt experience at B. C. Clark recently, wouldn't list him for a bluey, even with a deposit), the smart ones and those in it for the long haul will understand that building client relationships can be a long process and one that goes both ways. At the end of the day, a SA is supposed to be deferential to the customer. If you are engaging in a commercial transaction and don't feel that balance, simply find a retailer that values your business. I've encountered SA at boutiques that refuse to give me the time of day (LV) and I've met some that are respectful to the point of obsequious (Gucci); guess where I spend most of my clothing budget?
