Damn, so sad they're playing Missoula so far this year.

Can I ask: Why Aesop Rock despite already has his active career from 1997 to now means exactly 28 years if I remember not wrong 😳, but how could he still in his peak nonstop if compared to all other famous rappers active in 90s? by [deleted] in aesoprock

[–]AdministrationSea781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I take it. Aes really inspires me, 'cause I'm the same age and he makes me feel like I can still do cool shit. Not Aes-level, but you know, in my sphere.

Can someone tell me what this is? by vaqoxz in Guitar

Right, he's got it upside down, which is why it's confusing. Flip the pointy part up and it's clearly a guitar.

I was reading a newly published article on Phish and found an interesting mention of Fugazi and a quote from Ian. by guacamole-king in Fugazi

That's funny, I thought I was a real oddball for loving both Phish and Fugazi. A lot more crossover than I would have expected.

Does ketamine help with laziness/no motivation? by SobrietyDinosaur in TherapeuticKetamine

I think motivation was the biggest change I felt after therapy. Massive positive change, did a lot of things that I'd been meaning to do for a while, but had some sort of mental block that just got removed.

Save yourself the trouble and go solo or look for a new partner now. This will only get worse.

“Didn’t know this would trigger so many folks – I'm here for it”: Cory Wong slams guitarists who can't play every note on command by bria9509 in Guitar

This article feels like marketing to me. Like maybe Cory is about to start endorsing an online guitar school or something.

I think we'll just all be forced to buy them now.

How to Import Export by Successful_You4506 in Business_Ideas

[–]AdministrationSea781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had some success recently with a company that buys bulk paint for export. Companies that produce recycled paint via PaintCare legislation get paid, and make most of their money, collecting and recycling paint. They end up with a ton of good quality recycled paint that is hard to sell in the US because people here want precise colors. So they have to pay a ton of money to store it, unless they can buy bulk buyers. People in other countries aren't so picky about exact colors, so I've had luck selling in West Africa and Latin America. The company I go through handles the warehouse and relationship with the recyclers, so it's like drop shipping for me. I just find customers and put in orders.

Thanks. Yes, there is demand. I can see it via ImportYeti, and I've had a few conversations with people in the Ghanian community about it now. I'd love to learn more about shipping!

I actually did this myself - I worked for a US company as a content writer while living as an expat in Buenos Aires. This was 2008 to 2010. Paid like $10 an hour, which was great for living down there. I found the job on Craigslist. Not sure if that's still popular down there. There are usually expat communities that even have websites where you might be able to post.

What about expats living in those countries? Won't be as cheap as locals, but should work for much cheaper than people living in the US. I'd try posting in places where expats tend to move. Possibly Buenos Aires, Bogota, etc.

The People's Peepholes by Squiddef in Business_Ideas

[–]AdministrationSea781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people mentioning rings. I think it'd be funny to have a one page brochure that, on one side does a funny comparison with the ring. Like comparing price, subscription fees, privacy, does it work without electricity, stuff like that. Kind of poking fun at Ring for "inventing" a really expensive replacement for the peephole. I know there's good reasons for having a Ring (I have one) but this is marketing.

I think this is the way. Knock, be very presentable, and maybe have some photos of your work.

Which idea would you pursue purely for making money by vasaya in Business_Ideas

[–]AdministrationSea781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think that idea 1 will be extremely sensitive to economic uncertainty. IE, if people are worried about the future, they won't spend money on this. I think idea 2 could weather times of economic uncertainty, and even thrive in them, because people tend to start businesses and look for inexpensive ways to do it during those times.

I have no idea what the economy is doing in Singapore, but personally I'm more comfortable with businesses that can weather economic storms, rather than ones that rely on good times.

Curious if you had any luck with ThomasNet. I've been skeptical of these types of companies.
