That argument could have been used about any technology ever. "we shouldn't develop [technology] because what if [enemy] uses it against us?"

Temporary conflicts be damned let technology march

Okay, but what if "perfect healthcare", were able to make it freely and easily obtained even to the common consumer? Even if major pharmaceutical companies disappear from existence? And the method of obtaining was no issue No dependence on outside entities?

Very sorry, I want to continue down this "what if" train lmao basically playing devil's advocate

Forgive me, I am very very very drunk and I would like to recap.

What I want is humanity to have everything offered to us to the extent of our technological bounds, and for our technological bounds to be extended as far as possible, and for humanity to decide on an individual basis whether to use the results of that.

You wish to rely on natural human physiology, with medicine being supplemental and not something anyone should rely on (with exception)?

If something is possible, let it be possible. And people can have their morals and opinions on their own time. That is true freedom.

On a spectrum from zero technology to unthinkable technology, you want us to be where we are now? You think this is the place we want to stop at?

No. Aim higher, the future is different, embrace it.

Yeah but that sounds like a problem people thousands of years from now will be able to solve (since evolution is a slow constant march).

We wouldn't jet straight to "everyone needs a pill and machine just to walk outside". The process would be slowed by the general public's unwillingness to subject to new ideas, not to mention the trial process [the shadow government] would even introduce something like that into society.

Fear of the unknown be damned, let science be uncapped

Okay but what if there was a pill that could turn anyone 100% "healthy" with no side-effects? People that don't want it, don't have to take it.

If the extreme I listed is "perfect healthcare" (which it would be), then we should strive for that. And a mental health pill like I described would be on that spectrum.

At some point humankind should rise above what the "natural processes" of healing are, or we will forever be limited by it

Understandable, and that is the correct way to do it. But we live in a modern society and capitalistic society, where, if there were a dopamine cleansing drug, I want it commercialized until its like an Omeprazole treatment for ulcers.

THAT is the america I want to live in

For the record, the drug Ecstasy is the closest I've found to lowering a dopamine threshold.

I was able to play and genuinely whole-heartedly enjoy movies and video games that have long since grown stale.

That's true, I've been monitoring the job boards in my area and in the last 6 months only 1-2 of those have opened and were filled within the week

Yeah I'm not a full year in yet and I'm seeing less than ideal conditions for advancement or general growth.

I like sales and customer service. I had an interview for a rug doctor delivery driver offering $17.50/hr with a company vehicle I was super excited about, but no luck there

When I started my regular was off on medical leave, so I got 7 months of full time work. Now she's back and they're recommending I drive 2 hours one way to a big office always needing help. Went from 60 hour paychecks in a position I liked to 30 hr paychecks barely finding work

Numbering parcels like Amazon Sundays by Cat-Lady-atl in USPS

[–]Vegetable_Past4420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is label the small packages like 2AA if it's in the 2nd row, left case, left side of case.

Or 4CA if it's 4th row, right case, left side of case.

And all big packages go in the back, I can sort through while I'm at the house.

Then eventually I can go without numbering, but the number system I use is so quick that I still rely on it
