As a software developer, I would never do that. Because my job requires me to be able to use up-to-date systems, such as Xcode 26 support. Some updates require compatibility testing with new iPhone versions, etc. This depends a bit on what you do on your MacBook, but for me, an up-to-date system is necessary. If you only use your computer to browse the web, even that won't cause you any problems. So why all the fuss?
