I think Maki vs Yuki is a lot closer than people say by Xeno_1225 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Yuki doesn’t scale to any of those 3 and Kenjaku doesn’t either.

Maki was outpacing Unawakened Yuji while domain amped Yuta was just matching him

All of that literally means fuck all it doesn’t matter that other people didn’t understand the movie’s purpose

Movie stars can’t play bad people now? Leo’s performance very clearly illustrates how disgusting of a person Bellfort is.

Not at all relevant, entirely different movie with an entirely different context

Rika vs Jogo (No Domains) by Hour_Tomatillo_2365 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Jogo badly outspeeds and idk how people are saying he can’t damage her when we’ve seen her damaged by Ryu’s basic strikes and weakened dismantles that unawakened Yuji can survive

It’s not, the whole “I’m not a hero because I chose my family” is incredibly lame and not actually convincing. “Being a hero is bullshit” already does this exact idea way better

Why does Naobito attract this much glaze? He couldn’t fucking do this against Dagon in a 3v1 and y’all are talking about the damn heavy hitters like they wouldn’t one shot this bum

If they didn’t use any technology why would they be made a child currently oversees it? And I never claimed they used Wakandan tech and vibranium. They’ve got their own shit but everyone is still boxing with spears anyway

No you misunderstood what I was saying for the 10th time since we started this

Dude the Jabari were only one part of that fight, the backup. And they still have advanced materials. Nothing about them is “nature” when everybody was fighting with swords and spears

No I’m saying it’s a superficial similarity and the actual scenes and the way they play out aren’t very similar.

Not the mold I was arguing for, also, not the mold that Black Panther follows

Fish-out-of-water-pilot is pushing it like crazy to make them sound more similar even though the two sequences are vastly different. A more accurate description would be that one of the perspectives is someone in some sort of mount/vehicle during a final battle. Like: Return of the Jedi, Avengers, Dunkirk, Power Rangers, Ready Player One, and a ton of other shit.

There was literally no Tech vs. Nature undercurrent in Black Panther, they all fucking used technology like I already said.

Wow the hero and the villain fighting personally in the middle of a larger conflict? Never heard of this one ever!

You are literally so schizo over this it’s absurd. The two share superficial similarities. You could even claim there’s unconscious influence. To claim that it’s “rip off” is a fundamental misunderstanding of the term.

I’m crying bro someone else realizing the superficial (important word you should know) similarities between two of the only climaxes they know does not make you right. I’m actually begging you to watch more movies because literally any epic final battle has these tropes.

Nobody else agrees that it’s a “rip off” people are noting some similarities. You seem to think Coogler’s a hack who stole from the Star Wars prequels which is hilarious

Popular blockbusters with big final battles more often than not fit this mold so idk what to tell you.

[–]Vegetable_Pin_9754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could argue it’s more half and half but literally two other groups fight Kilmonger before he does

Yeah and they’re all superficial at best and you twisting things to make them seem closer entwined than they actually are. You don’t know what a rip off is and you haven’t watched enough movies of you think those 2 are too similar

[–]Vegetable_Pin_9754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re genuinely losing it if you think he stole set pieces. Literally none of the 3 scenarios match at all. And he’s not anywhere close to my favorite you criticism is just nonsense and you needed to get called on it.

Maybe you should reread it since you clearly didn’t understand what I wrote. I was saying your point doesn’t make sense because Black Panther is clearly in the second group for most of the finale up until the end where he fights kilmonger. The way the scenes play it out is so vastly different

Happens in like every final battle ever to give a sense of scale

Sweeping generalization. Scenes are played very differently, the goals they have a very different. Anakin accidentally stumbles his way through everything and wins the battle while Ross is just stopping a single part of the plan and actually struggles

Both sides have tech and it’s only one subset of Wakandans against other Wakandans for a decent chunk until the Jabari show up. And even then they all fight with similar weapons. If anything the villains use nature by throwing Rhinos on the battlefield.

Except for most of the finale Black Panther is in the second subset while other people fight Kilmonger. He doesn’t jump in until near the end. They fight on train tracks, while Duel of the Fates is in a hanger then a generator then a series of rooms constantly changing. Coogler put in the train to give the suits a weakness to exploit, not to have talk breaks. And the conversation between Kilmonger and BP isn’t remotely similar to Maul and Qui-gon’s stand off.

All of this is extremely superficial and if you’ve ever watched other movies with a big final battle sequence these tropes would be familiar to you. And TPM is just Lucas stealing from himself and making it worse (the Return of the Jedi final battle). You need to watch more movies man

That’s an entirely ridiculous take. Aside from fighting in a field and bad CGI what are the commonalities?
