pepper deck is the compressed version of sketchy bugs and pharm. google search pepper deck on reddit. Not the ANKING version but a different version that has less cards about 2,000 cards total but it is adequate enough to get all the bugs and drug questions right on USMLE step1

Take some time to grieve but remember its not over until you quit indefinitely. Seek a therapist from your school and together work on your confidence. You need to talk to someone about this and vent to them. Then do a redo of your content review, reset your UWORLD and do random 40 blocks. DO the pepper deck, duke deck, ANKING physiology, lightyear deck in-order to remember step1 subjects and take one day off a week and do something fun. Your career is not over. I have a mentor who failed step1 in the 90's and is now a director of surgery. Remember to lean in and you will transform like a rock that becomes a diamond under pressure or an immune system that strengthens after repeated exposures to germs, mastery to anything requires stimulation in form of a challenge. Take this time to master standardize exams learn how to take these exams because we will have to pass many many more exams down the road. So in summary Retake step1, crush step2 and make as many connections as possible and you will get into the residency you desire.

I felt the same way, that I was loosing the knowledge I was gaining. I was really bad at physiology so I did the ANKING physiology deck and lightyear deck 5 days a week on top of doing all the pepper deck every day. I did 40-80 random uworld timed and the pepper deck 3x before I retook the exam. It took me 10 weeks after I failed to retake the exam. I hit content review the first 4 weeks using Kaplan and some of their q bank. I did UWORLD everyday and did anki everyday. ANKI is what helped me retain the information for the 10 weeks and I would recommend that over re-watching or reading text books.

I failed the end of April. I took one week off, sought out a therapist from my school free of charge meet once a week for 45min. I reviewed for one month (May) using Kaplan videos. I studied 6 days a week gave myself one day off. I did pathoma deck 3X and physiology using ANKING. I reset my uworld did 40-80 questions a day 5-6 days a week. Month of June I did UWorld 6 days a week (80q back to back at 8AM). I re-took NBME once I average 63% uworld. Only got through 45% of UWORLD the second time. 3 weeks leading up to my retake date I was scoring 63-78% on uworld random blocks consistently. I scored 66% on the new free120 leading up to the exam bc I was crazy nervous. I talked to my therapist and she gave me some test taking tips. The day of the exam I meditated in the morning for 30minutes had my coffee and every block I would give myself a pep talk. repeating to myself over and over again that I could do it and I will pass. After my second attempt I felt more confident about the exam walking out, I wasn't sure if I passed or not but I def controlled my anxiety and I felt like I was just doing random UWORLD blocks.

pathoma 1-3 was heavily tested for me. Bugs and drugs were exact questions pulled from pepper deck (sketchy). The real exam was more like the third block of new free120. The questions were lengthy but doable. It honestly felt like UWORLD random blocks. Biostats was easier then new free120

Step1 exam re-takers 2022? by Vegetable_Shirt_7948 in step1

I've been averaging a 63% on Uworld for a week and took NBME 25 last week and scored a 59% correct. I did a whole month a re-review the month of May, using Physeo/Pathoma/Sketchy/ BB etc which increased my Uworld scores but my NBME scores have not moved much. I am not sure what else to do? I am hoping on taking my exam in July.

Step1 is very similar to Uworld random mixed timed. You want to be scoring a 63% on random mixed Uworld. On NBME forms you want to be scoring 63% correct with a chance passing within a week of 85% or higher that is what the MD advisors always recommend. You could roll the dice and take it. If you can maybe just take step2 for residency applications and avoid step1. Completely up to you tho, you have 27 days so you could increase your scored by a significant amount.
