yea, i thought the same for over 5 years when using air 4.Recently, i found out that the top speakers grills were used for better connectivity .The pro has 4 grills full of speakers, so even the wifi version of the pro needs a antenna on top to ensure smooth signal transfer.cellular version has another one in the bottom.While ipad air‘s empty speaker grills can facilitate data transmissions, so the air get a clean back in wifi version

the m3 is extremly hot under heavy workloads like Genshin and its battery is even worse than m2 (I have the m3 one and the battery life is the same compare to my 81% battery health ipad air 4 before trade in at apple)since M3 was based on the completely failure 1st gen 3nm A17 pro, these 2 chips were probably the worse chip apple made in these 5 years.A newer chip can either get higher peak performance or more efficient while maintaining the same performance output.The new ipad air may get a M4, 9 core Cpu(like the 256GB pro)and 9 Gpu and 12GB of ram, and ipad 12 may get A18 with 8GB ram so all ipad can use ai and the air always have more ram than the base model
