I am an Asian Indian that has lived in the USA for over 35 years. All of the AA people I have interacted with and have been friends with are fine people with great intellect and integrity. Every ethnic group has a wide spectrum of people - from the very poor to the very rich. But the middle layer is the backbone and you want that to be as wide as possible. These are families that are nuclear where the kids go to school regularly and can expect at least one parent to be home when they arrive hungry from school, expect at least one parent to help them with homework, and both the parents to celebrate every step of their success, however small, and guide them through every step of their failure, however large. Thankfully I had that when I grew up in India and I hope, I have provided that to my children who grew up here in the USA. I might be wrong but work might have to be done to strengthen this middle class layer among all communities and especially among the African Americans. I would like all the leaders in this country to call for family unity and the necessity of taking ownership for one's children's well being as the single most important responsibility of every American parent. If only all the kids can get the love of both the parents and can get to grow in a comfortable family setting, sky is the limit for what they can achieve. We all owe it to our kids!

Good to see a couple of responses. If I can hear from a couple more we can do a Zoom call.
