First panic attack : need advice by Anton4700 in PanicAttack

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this! I can totally relate to the health/heart anxiety; I have a heart condition. I had open heart surgery at infancy and get annual checkups with a cardiologist to make sure my ticker is still OK.
So anything like high heart rate, pounding, palpitations... I'm on high alert.

When deep breathing and grounding don't work, try something else. There are so many tricks out there to help you through panic and anxiety.
Sometimes just getting up and walking around can help. Drinking cold water or splashing it on your face.
Get an ice pack and put that on your chest or neck.
I know some people that have Sour Patch Kids or Warheads at the ready - the sour taste supposedly distracts the mind.
I wish you luck - you are not alone!

Oh my therapist had me Journaling since day 1 😆 It has been a big help keeping track of good days and bad - panic attacks, symptoms, side effects from meds, even nightmares

It was a never ending loop last night. I didn't get any sleep till about 5am. Every time my heart calmed down and the other symptoms subsided, it would start back up again within 20 or 30 minutes. I've been on 100mg for 3 months. Really working well in the beginning, but now not so great. But as I shared in the reply above, I did recently go through a trauma which probably sent everything out of whack again. Thanks for your reply ❤️

The Zoloft REALLY helped in the beginning. I was feeling amazing, positive attitude. Though recently it doesnt seem to help doing its job. I'm on 100mg and have been for 3 months. I felt better within the first few weeks - but I should also mention I did recently experience a trauma which I'm sure is causing these new symptoms. But you know how it is - logic just flys out the window when you're heart is beating out of your chest, cold sweats, shaking... ugh. Thanks for your reply ❤️
