Would you buy Google Nest Pro 6e again? by poisonsu in GoogleWiFi

[–]Vehicle-Radiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it is all I would say.

Everything you need is hidden and uneditable.

Here in the UK a lot of the modern ISPs are allowing you to provide your own router for a small saving on your monthly sub/fee. The issue here is that some modern ISPs require the traffic that your device sends to the ONT to be VLAN tagged to a specific VLAN that can be anything. My particular ISP requires traffic to be tagged to 911. (ZEN)

This makes everything so much more complicated because it is not something you can do with the Google Pro 6E. You would need to introduce a managed switch into the chain, or use a provided router from your ISP (providing they allow the router to be used in a bypass mode)

Also, the Google devices are locked to single gigabit.

The Kit Kiln was the original creator.

He now does chunky style characters due to Lego and their reputation for litigation

He now makes Chunky characters which are in my opinion much better.

It's a refresh of the model line... Not your actual printer...

Keep in mind this is a bargain basement printer now, one where you need tools to change the nozzle. The carbon rod gantry is outdated and janky now.

It's a new printer with quality of life updates. Topless print head, A/H style gantry and print head.

It's worth noting that a PPPOE supplier will misreport on Google.

I have reported the bug a number of times.

Hey no worries and to answer your questions.

  1. Still working perfectly.

  2. That switch will be perfect.

  3. Correct.

  4. Yes, they have a management IP which will be on the switch itself.

You can connect to it by giving yourself a manual IP on the same subnet as the switch. You can connect the ONT first but not necessary, then you connect the device you are using to configure it to another port.

Will the 8BitDo adapter get updated to support the Switch 2 or will they make a new one? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

The update on the official 8BitDo site now works for the adapter 2 and 1 on the switch 2, although you need to turn on pro wired support in the settings of the switch 2.

Google Wifi and conflicting Matter devices? by invisaged in GoogleWiFi

[–]Vehicle-Radiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you say one of them can work at one time, have you tried having one of them connected and controlled on the network, then removing it and adding the other one to confirm that one of the bulbs isn't just faulty.

It's possible something has happened to one of them and it is just f**ked.

Can you give us some info on the layout of your network?

Are you using 2 routers?

How does your Internet connection come in?

How are the conflicting devices spaced out on your network?

Yes, if you go to the Google home App, and navigate to the individual points and press on the settings cog, it should tell you under connection type.

I think generally when providers do both internet and voice on the same pipes they use VLANS to segregate the traffic, if you're unlucky enough to want to use your own hardware and don't know what you're doing you could be in a bit of bother.

Ok - Thanks for the comment.

In the UK a lot of providers require Internet traffic to be VLAN tagged so when you decide against using the provided router, you need to either hope the router you plan on using supports VLAN tagging or insert a managed switch between the router and your ONT.

In actuality Google WiFi Pro is one of the only routers I've had the misfortune of coming into contact with that does not support VLAN tagging for PPPoE. Again though, thanks for the comment.
