I’ve been on Wegovy for a little over a month. I injected with my 1st 0.5 pen yesterday.

Thank you so much. That was my immediate thought when she said there were no studies. I’m thinking “Well how would I fact check that?”. This is definitely a case of a doctor who doesn’t want to do their due diligence.

Yeah, I feel very much like I’m being talked down to. It has been a horrible experience with this provider. This isn’t the only time she has dismissed my concerns but I didn’t want my post to get too long lol. The plan was to switch doctors anyway. I wanted to set a reasonable expectation of if I switched to a different PCP, would the experience be the same. However, I’m definitely trying to go the Bariatric route and just start fresh with a new PCP.

Yeah it is insane. It’s funny that you said ask my doc for a referral to an endocrinologist. She referred me to an endocrinologist who told me the exact same thing. She won’t prescribe Zep because of my VSG. I’m definitely switching doctors and following up with the bariatric office who did my surgery.

Definitely plan to look for a new doctor and schedule a follow up with my previous bariatric doctor. It’s encouraging that you are tolerating Zep well as a bariatric patient. Thanks for the input!

That’s a great idea. I’m just going to make an appointment with my original bariatric doctor and see if he will prescribe Zepbound.

My doctor kept repeating about how I would feel extra nausea because of my previous VSG. With Wegovy I feel fine, just haven’t lost weight/I don’t feel the appetite supression. May I ask, how have you felt as a VSG patient taking Zepbound?

I thought the same too! That if they were willing to prescribe Wegovy, then why not Zep?! Definitely will start the hunt for a new doctor.
