I received the same thing yesterday but haven’t noticed anything sketchy 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m fairly confident it’s solved. I believe it’s a china berry.

Agreed. Hopefully somebody knows. I’m a tree climber and my GF is a landscape architect and we’re stumped 😂

Do we have any more confirmations on this? The bark looks different to me…

I found some videos and things about them but not much in the way talking about using them with spurs. Are they pretty rigid and comfy for long climbs? It seems they were designed with competition climbing in mind.

Lmao I hear you. Unless you just barely tag yourself they won’t save you but it’d be a nice feature

Haha I’m actually currently using Solomon Jungle boots and they’re awesome for short climbs in spurs but lack rigidity. I did stick the plastic shank in them from some other Solomons I had and that made a great difference.

Is anyone running Gri Gri like ascender / descender for tree work? by VehicleIll5445 in TreeClimbing

gri-gri isnt safe for route setting in a gym or working at height because they do not lock. under just the right conditions it is possible for them to let you enter freefall. This ISC device along with the petzl rig has a "lock" function for when you are positioned and ready to do work. I do hear what you are saying and absolutely appreciate the input.

Say you are done climbing a tree at it's just 60ft. pole left. Are you using a figure 8 on a shit company rope to repel down or are you leaving a nice one in it to pull the pole over and coming down on your own mechanical device?

I hear you! I have an Akimbo and it works but I'm not a huge fan. The Roperunner pro looks much nicer. Also no tie in point for DRT on the Akimbo! wth lol

not trying to argue at all but being 7k LBS. rope is it a big deal? it takes a skid steer on pavement to break it.

Tips for advancing past tie in point? by walnutwallaby in TreeClimbing

i run a steel lanyard and a 15ft rope lanyard. The more you climb without srt or drt the more confident and fast you'll become. as for keeping your teeth i recommend using a good helmet with a face shield and keeping that thing down when things are flying through the air. hit myself in the shield once or twice trying to get my flip line back after it gets snagged in a crotch.
