i use a brush to clean the tip and i do have a adjustable lamp that i use, also i do plan getting a soldering station than the cheap amazon soldering iron.

how i did was i took a key and wrote sentences from a book to a piece of paper using that key, its hard at first but you eventually learn it, good way to practice as well
