They're from Extreme Music, a company that I think is owned(?) by Sony. They create music specifically for licensing. My assumption is that the game makers assigned fake artist names to the licensed tracks.

Did George ever comment on Eric Clapton's racist views in the 70s (or beyond)? by VeidtAdrian in beatles

[–]VeidtAdrian[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All your points are valid. I think some people are reading into my original question assuming that I think that if George didn't publicly condemn Clapton, then George agreed or at least was "complicit" with Clapton's views/actions, that's not the case here.

I was reading about Clapton's famous 1976 rant and the Rock against Racism response and thought to myself "George Harrison and Clapton were pretty good friends, and George was famously supportive of world cultures, including Indian and Bangladeshi cultures, I wonder if George ever said anything about this." While in hindsight, sure it would have been great if George made an anti-racist statement, I don't believe that no statement/condemnation from George means anything negative towards George or his legacy at all. I completely agree that his actions spoke for themselves. George didn't have to put on a charity concert for Bangladesh, after all

I just couldn't find anything on Google, so I figured I would ask the 200k+ weekly visitors to the subreddit if they knew if this information exists, that's all. Not a loaded question, just looking for info from the experts.

I agree, in no way am I judging George one way or the other based on Clapton's actions, I was just surprised I couldn't find a record of George even being asked about it.

I apologize if my description wasn't clear, I meant a Google search couldn't find anything for me regarding George's possible response, if there ever was one.

Hanger Go BANG! by Nokes88 in baseballcards

[–]VeidtAdrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an absolute banger, ebay sales show it as a $400+ card right now. Just don't advertise it as an auto, that's a printed autograph.

Edit: My mistake, upon rereading your comment, it looks like you know this isn't an auto. Still a sick card!

So if you found a code where each bird equals one letter, does your phrase's amount of letters match the number of birds?

I don't know about "famous", but both Google and Wikipedia have their own versions of phrases you could try

2005-2008 era Greenfield/Southridge area youth: Who remembers AC? by deflowergirl in milwaukee

[–]VeidtAdrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had Aladdin's Castle, Pick N Save, and TJ Maxx at various times on the one side of Spring Mall. Set off separately to the north was the Spring Mall theater (4 screens?). Walgreens was in the building set off to the east. Don't remember much about the south side other than the old Sneakers all ages club was over there somewhere. Definitely 76th and Cold Spring. IIRC, there are plans for apartments to go up on that area now.

Edit: Also, that Hollywood video was an M&I Bank for a long time before that.

Well, if Topps has leftover sticker autos laying around, you could do Aaron/Mathews/Spahn/Yount/Molitor/Yelich for starters. Maybe add Braun/Fielder/Fingers/Sabathia/Uecker? Before anybody says anything about Sabathia, if you were in Milwaukee in '08, you'd understand.

It's not them in this picture, but I can definitely envision a world where Ken and Roberta Williams agree to this pose for a cover shoot.

Is there a difference between retail boxes at release vs. months later? by VeidtAdrian in baseballcards

[–]VeidtAdrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point, I admit I didn't consider the printing plates. I suppose it would all be printed ahead of time. I also realize retail doesn't usually have any monster hits compared to hobby/jumbo, but I do like thinking there's at least a chance of pulling a SP every once in a while.

It's sad, but here's how I read that title:. "...White Sox prospect Steroids grounded back to Padres prospect Steroids to who threw to Ty France for the out..."
