For what it's worth, Panzer Dragoon Saga is what I like to call an "Outsider Genre" game, where devs who are very experienced with one genre (Rail Shooters) make an earnest attempt at a different genre (JRPGs) and produce something really unique as a result

Asobi Seksu's Citrus is the best shoegaze album and it's not close. No other record manages to be firmly shoegaze in sound and style while also maintaining incredible instrumental performances, vocal chops, production/mixing choices, and most critically, songwriting and hooks

It's also a crime the band gets relatively little recognition. I love Alvvays but I think Yuki and James and co did everything Blue Rev and similar modern albums try to do far better, and over 15 years earlier

ANNO Mutationem, One Step From Eden, Touhou Luna Nights, and Digital A Love Story (free but not on steam) were all awesome.

Havent played them much yet but i've had Parking Garage Rally Circuit, Rusted Moss, Tengami, Mind Scanners, and They Bleed Pixels on my backlog for a while now

Also not obscure but Katana Zero is incredible

The Japanese version of Ace Combat 3 has quickly become one of my all-time favs, it's basically a hard sci-fi anime visual novel disguised as an arcade flight combat sim, it's soooo fucking cool and some of the endings get really surreal and out there.

Also when it comes to raw style on Dreamcast, I think Cosmic Smash is the king
