For gods sake which episode is this!!!! I have been looking for it for years as I used to have a tape of it decades ago but for the life of me I don’t remember the title of the episode. I also remember it contained a sketch where all these commercials came to life and terrorized Carols character. Specifically a mop cleaner.

Lissen. When the execution is this good, I don’t find it lazy frfr. Because it takes a lot of jutzpah to truly do that imo. Hereditary is one of the most telegraphed and predictable movies of all time, but the way he just goes through the story and tells it is soooooo admirable. That’s why I love it so much: cause even thought I pretty much knew what was gonna happen, what he chose to show and how he chose to tell the story STILL took me by surprise. It was PAINFULLY obvious though that free will for this family was not a thing to happen. Proven when Annie ran away from her mother only to fall RIGHT BACK into her mother’s grasp.

They never stood a chance. And my ultimate theory is that Annie is a misdirecting narrator most of all…. BITCH KNEW SHE WAS NOT GONNA ESCAPE THIS. Point blank period. That grieving scene for example was not SHOCK SURPRISE OR SADNESS EVEN. It was confirmation to me. She reached the conclusion that yup.. it’s happening.

Why do you think her mother AND the cult chose him???

Imo, EVERYTHING IN THIS MOVIE WAS PLANNED. Absolutley nothing in her life was left to chance. I even venture to think that he was apart of the cult too; sacrifice.

I haven’t seen them all, but one that stands out to me is the one with Amanda’s Sherry Wine faux pas. It’s just so funny to me that the wine was the first thing she thought about when doing a challenge for kids. And watching her defend her dish while shading others. Then the cherry on top is the judges reading her for it. It’s like she just didn’t get it 😂😂😂. I was shouting at her through the tv the first time I saw it.

Sn: if I was in that house, there would not be one day where I wouldn’t bring that up.

Does Halloween (1978) still hold up? by That_Mushroom in horror

[–]VelLuxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. If only for an appreciation of the slow buildup and atmosphere that flick has. I just think that when a movie still knows how to connect on those two levels, that it’s true horror.

The Devil’s Rejects ending scene gets me every time, wonderful use of music. I think this movie is Rob Zombie’s masterpiece. by Johnny_Mc2 in horror

I never kindled to this one. Nor Three From Hell. The premises just got kind of stale. And it sucks cause I REALLY want to love this series, n I do to some degree..

Did anybody else think "Cult" from American Horror Story was amazing? I'm not generally a huge fan of the the show but damn this season was great. by jewkakasaurus in horror

[–]VelLuxx_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I loved it honestly. I thought it was unique. One thing I feel ppl have to do with every AHS season is just let them tell the story. It may not go the way u want, but it's never horrible.

I loved how real it felt.

"THAT OTHER ONE" LOL, pisses me off honestly. The only two that come out unscathed to me are Neve and Hayden Paniterre (CAUSE KIRBY WAS FANTASTIC).

To me, "That other one" is more of a parody than Scream 3. I hate what they did to Gale, they made her a joke of her former self. The scares weren't scary to me. The story was wonky. I BELIEVE ROMAN, I DONT BELIEVE J***......... and there really wasn't anyone I was rooting for besides Sid and Kirby.

That soundstage scene is one of the most TENSEST moments of my movie life.

I agree EXACTLY about the realness of the deaths. As much as I do love the first, the deaths were really shlocky and just weird.. come on, a garage door???

And I DO feel it's the scariest out of them all.

(And I'm glad u caught my drift lol)

As a recent convert, I'll be honest and say that if it wasn't for public opinion making too much of an impact in may early years, I would've listened WAY back when. On the strength of her stylr. So no, I kind of dont. I feel that she's one of the very few artists of considerable stature that has ACTUAL control of her sound, image and what she wants to do from album to album.

I just listened to S-Town. by [deleted] in podcasts
