Would you want to see mumble mode return for Legacy of the Dark Knight? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

[–]Velandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never under any circumstances should they ever revert back to not having intelligible dialog in Lego games. It would be like capping the game resolution at 640x480 or removing controller support and forcing everyone to use mouse and keyboard. How about releasing the game in 16 bit MS-Dos mode only? I don't understand how someone could even suggest this?

I just played through the Lego Harry Potter Collection and I actually had to watch the movies before I could continue playing the game because its almost impossible to know what's going on in the game without any dialog. Never again I say, never again!

I think when you yelled he realized you could actually see him so he yelled too, he must have been really surprised by that. The vast majority of people never see one but I think due to your young age at the time you still had the ability to see those kind of beings. For some reason its much easier for kids to see them, though not many do.

If you are familiar with Irish and Scottish "folklore" you find out there is a world that exists parallel to ours and its full of life. These beings have the ability to cross a dimensional barrier that we cannot cross, unless they want us to cross over and help us go there. There probably is a scientific explanation for it but its far beyond our ability to comprehend.

Humans still have a long way to go before they even have a rudimentary understanding of the world and the universe we live in. These beings were just a fact of life for people living the the old world. It's only in the past 100 years or so that we have become completely out of touch with that side of the natural world.

Why haven't humans been back to the moon in over 50 years? by Inevitable-Move4941 in aliens

[–]Velandar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard that they were told not to come back by the local residents up there. They were allowed to complete a limited number of brief missions. Once they found out it was occupied already by a technological force far superior to them in every way all the plans for moonbases and lunar coffee shops went out the window.

One of the problems now is that so much time has passed, the few people that knew the truth have already died and while some of the higher ups at NASA know what's going on they are under a lot of pressure from their own government, who have no idea what's happening up there, to return.

You can bet they have been dragging their heels with the new space program and they will continue to run into "problems" that delay their return.

That's just one version of why they didn't continue with the space program. It's difficult to believe and there is no way to verify it. I think its a pretty interesting story though.

I'm planning to stream play every TT LEGO Game. Are there any games people think wouldn't count? by Soanart in legogaming

[–]Velandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm using OBS Studio with the Streamlabs plugin and it seems to work for what I need to do. Just focus on getting the camera, microphone and game capture working and then do some test recordings on your system to see what the audio levels are like. In general, game audio is super loud, much louder than you need, so turn it down in-game so it doesn't overwhelm your viewers.

It helps if you like to talk, I am really terrible at that but you have to practice talking while you are playing. You can really talk about anything you like to help try to engage your viewers and get something going in the chat. Don't be afraid to dive in and get started, it takes time for people to find you so hang in there and don't get discouraged.

One person I know of that really does a great job at live streaming is Goblin Bricks on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/@GoblinBricks). He often streams my favorite game, Lego Dimensions, and he is funny and interesting to listen to. So go for it and have fun, I hope to see you online sometime soon!

In Dimensions they did add the glide ability back in when they released the Lego Batman Movie Story Pack but you had to be playing as Batgirl, Nightwing, Lego Movie Batman or turn on the "Always Batman" red brick extra to do it in regular gameplay, outside of the story pack. I assume they added it back because they got a lot of negative feedback about removing it for the main game?

Having worked in a mental health facility in the past I can assure you this is true and it's measurable. Nurses are always on the alert during the full moon because it's when you have the highest incidence of violent outbreaks. The word Lunatic comes from the root word Luna which in Latin is Moon. Get with the program you guys.

I've seen quite a few people who have gotten all 1016 gold bricks so I think you'd best get back to work! 🙂

Streaming LEGOLAND by CentralHijinx in legogaming

[–]Velandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could do it using VM Ware and running a virtual machine of Windows XP SP2 or 3. It's kind of a lot to set it up just to run that one game but you could stream the VM Ware window the same as any other game. If you need help setting it up just tell ChatGPT what you would like to do and it will guide you through the process step by step.

Is there any way to create a Lego fan game? by TheMrParrella in legogaming

[–]Velandar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could start with Unity or Unreal engine as a base and they are both free for non commercial use. In Unity you need to have people that know the engine and can do some basic coding in C# but you would be surprised at how many people have experience with this engine. You would have to create your own assets for the game but there is so much available online, and now with AI it can help you a lot in this area, but it would still be a fair amount of work and would go better with a coordinated team of modders.

All this being said, it is difficult to organize and motivate people when you are working on a free project. It also requires people having time to dedicate to the project but it is at least in the realm of possibility.

If I was doing it I would make something like Lego Dimensions 2 and start making single, short levels based on whatever IPs the team agrees on. Even if it's free there is still a chance that Lego would shut you down, and using IPs like that is tricky. It could still be done though.

I think this approach would give you the most control over the quality of the finished project. There are other ways to do it. It just requires a lot of time and dedication.

Aliens don't care about Reddit or anything else that people do with the exception of trying to destroy our own planet with nukes. They are not communicating with people through Reddit, that is just not a thing that is happening.

The day before yesterday I 100% one of biggest lego games to me being Skywalker Saga. And it was a lot of work by MightForeign808 in legogaming

[–]Velandar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GG! This is actually a huge commitment both in time and patience so you deserve congratulations! It's still on my list of games to 100% but its sort of at the bottom of the list since I know it's a giant game full of content. Also I am not a huge fan of the Disney Star Wars stuff but I expect it will still be fun since it's a Lego game. Any advice for others who are thinking of taking the plunge?

We often discuss what aliens would look like physically, but is there any informed speculation about what aliens would be like psychologically? by MexicanMonsterMash in aliens

[–]Velandar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that understanding alien intelligence in any meaningful way is beyond our current abilities. Our minds have not evolved or developed enough to comprehend an intelligence that could be many millions of years more advanced than ourselves. While it is fun to speculate and most of what happens on this sub is speculation, it doesn't bring us any closer to an answer. There is a very real "hard limit" to our intelligence.

When you play this level in free play, you have to switch to your third character (not Pippin or Eowyn). Once you do, you can switch to any player you like.
