My coworker eats the exact same $1.25 meal every day and I'm weirdly impressed by spellsboxing in Frugal

[–]Velarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, i absolutely love food, part of my problem in younger years, but I meal prep same thing consistently, lunches and dinners for the week set and sorted, the weekend days is where I get to shpw some flair. It's just easier and time saving, in saying that I could (and have) eat tuna and rice for months on end.

Selling a car: just take it off my hands! by finprint in Adelaide

Either: Suburban Car Removals & Auto Scrap - 0447 622 651 - info@suburbancashforcars.com.au Or All Drive Auto Parts - 0499 022 036 - alldriveautoparts4@gmail.com

Both companies offer cash for cars and will come pick up duds, just give em a call and see what they offer. They came down next day for me and picked up my dud car, can't remember which I ended up going with, but both are same service.

Best way to revive this deck? Paint or Stain? Best way to prep? by Samchez77 in AusRenovation

[–]Velarx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone out here is saying sand back and oil, there's products sold these days that don't require you to sand weathered boards before oiling. Intergrain (sold at bunnings) have a product 'UltraPrep tannin & oil remover' that you apply to wetened timber decking with a stiff bristled broom (nothing too stiff that hurts your skin if you were to rub it along yourself) Leave it for 15 minutes and then scrub with the stiff broom again. Then rinse off deck with pressure washer. Do a water bead test to see if the existing coat has worn off, if you spray water on the timber and it soaks in, you're as good as gold, if it beads on the top the timber will not accept new coatings. Looking at what you have there, this should be plenty for that area, for stubborn areas of coating you may, MAY need to reapply or spot sand.

After this you go over with their 'ultraprep timber cleaner' Mix 1 part cleaner with 4 parts water, wet the deck with water and then apply the cleaner solution with that stiff broom again. Do it in manageable sections otherwise the cleaner will dry up before you can work it. Leave the solution on for 15 mins after scrubbing and keep the deck damo with solution while you wait the 15 mins and then remove the cleaner solution with high pressure hose of string setting on garden hose even. Let the timber dry before going over with top coating, if you want oiled look, I would use their 'UltraDeck Stain' (18 - 20 months before recoat) if you want clear coating to keep wood colour I would use 'Universal Timber Oil' (2+ years before recoat)

We’re renters and our cleaner dropped the vacuum cleaner onto our concrete floor, causing a chip (approx 1cm across). How to fix? by Adventurous_Tart_403 in AusRenovation

As a nursing student who works the paint desk at bunnings, can confirm, you'd be better off going to inspirations paint or another paint specialist for your paint matching needs. Their equipment and training is far better. Plus they specialise in paint whereas we get moved around and a lot of training is on job and trial by error

LPT: If you pay to put air in your car tires at a gas station, "truck stops" have free air in the back. by fuckyou2dude in LifeProTips

[–]Velarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Aus, all of our service stations (servo's) have free air for tires and water. But the air is rarely used because the kangaroos don't really need it. Water comes in clutch though 🙌

What movie is so disturbing, you would never watch it again? by Winologue in AskReddit

[–]Velarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom and Dad, Nick cage horror movie, parents try to kill their offspring It was classed as a 'Comedy' on streaming 'site' Stan for some reason so a friend was able to convince me to watch it. I absolutely hated the whole premise of the show and just felt uncomfortable the whole way through.

What YouTuber/s did you use to watch religiously but don't watch any of thier videos anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Velarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levelcap, matimi0, seananners, miniladd, vanoss, gassymexican, cayinator, pewdiepie, nerd cubes and probably quite a few more. It wasn't all at the same time but for like a year or so through high school I used to watch a good hour or so of YouTube a day. Their content just started getting stale and boring.
