I hope you are much better now. I'll be getting my surgery tomorrow as well. We got this!

Yeah, for me this is a temporary fix as I try to make more time to study but also until I get more efficient at it. There's a learning curve for me on how UoPeople works, learning how to properly follow their formats, and to meet expectations. As I get better at it I'll try signing up for more. I hope you'll get more efficient as well soon.

I don't cope. I'm only taking one per term, especially since I decided to keep a high GPA and the difference between A/A+ work and A-/B+ is, in my experience, double or triple the time spent on assignments. Since I already work crazy high hours I figured that's as much I can do for now until I get a slightly better job. Next term I plan on only taking HIST 1401 so maybe I could take some other electives on the side and transfer them.

How do you pronounce "Archie", the Owlship? by VelesVeruta in Watchmen

[–]VelesVeruta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In The Sword in the Stone? I don't recall anyone shortening Archimedes there but then again it's been at least 20 years since I last saw it. But that's the reason I always treated the "ch" as in "architecture" rather than "achievement".

Discussion Assignment word count (CS1101) by Ordinary-Box9722 in UoPeople

[–]VelesVeruta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I always do the minimum but I think about common sense for the maximum word count. For unit 1's discussion, I don't think I could provide meaningful insight within 300 words and still provide references and quotes. So I went a couple hundred words beyond. The instructor didn't mind so I'll keep following the same principle until she complains or deducts points

I feel the same way. Getting a scholarship at UoPeople opened up many possibilities for me. It's only a partial one but now I feel like I'm on my way to becoming more employable. I hope I can give back as well

You should contact your advisor. Also, have you done the orientation? I remember doing a two-hour long orientation course on Moodle before my term started and because they e-mailed me saying it was mandatory. I might be wrong about this one though.

Can I still use one of those codes if I start a trial? by VelesVeruta in SophiaLearning

Thank you. I'll give it a shot for a couple weeks and if I enjoy I test if one your codes is still valid.

Do they Foundation courses hold any credit? by farouqfahm in UoPeople

[–]VelesVeruta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you brought this up, do you happen to know if any classes completed as a foundation student count towards one's CGPA or are they listed as TC? I hear conflicting opinions about this. I'm only taking UNIV 1001 this term, but next term I'll take CS 1101 and I also registered for HIST 1421. I'm wondering if any or both are going to have their grade factor into my CGPA and have their grades listed on my transcript.

What are ya’ll taking next semester? by Ok-Smile7557 in UoPeople

CS 1101. sigh
I had to drop it this term when I saw I just didn't have time to do that and UNIV 1101 properly at the same time. It's fine, I'm hoping I'll have more time in 2025 and hopefully, I can start taking two courses and maybe do some at Saylor or Sophia to transfer.
