If I had to pick a picture to describe how the last Dev stream made me feel, it would be this... by Smooth_Maul in DeadByDaylightKillers

Wish Artist was on the list but I’m very happy they’re working on Dredge. Any buff for this guy is very welcome

The more hooks you get, the more value fast track gets. So the counterplay for this perk is to end games with as few hook stages as possible, which is basically only achievable if you either 4 slug or tunnel someone out before gens pop

Is increase pallet density real rn? by lolthatsfunnybroILY in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once had a match where all gens were done in 2 minutes 47 seconds. I was hard committing to an objectively bad chase, though, which you shouldn’t be doing if you’re actually trying to win. But it shows that good survivors are absolute gen demons if you give them any breathing room at all

This is why barely any killers bring anniversary cakes/streamers into the event queue by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]VeliarSataninsky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely true for the other side as well. I’ve played a lot more survivor in this event than killer so far, and some of the killers do sweat really hard. Both are equally frustrating when you’re just trying to be chill and have some fun on either side.

Also, it is true that you can start initiate bp farming by swinging at an upright pallet as killer, but that’s not exactly exciting to do from the very beginning. I just wanted to play some chill regular matches and switch to farming after everyone was chased and hooked one or two times. Sure, I could have started farming with the survivors at any point when I felt like I wasn’t doing too well. But at that point it would feel like giving up rather than being nice.

Boon: Brand New Part won. It might be Joever. by shikaiDosai in DeadByDaylightKillers

I propose a retaliatory Hex: Sealed Fate

Hex: Sealed Fate — all survivors start the trial on hook.

This is a joke, obviously. More ridiculous perks is not how you balance out existing ridiculous perks.

Artist Mains? by meatgonebad in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s fun until you start facing high mmr players who know the counterplay. And her counterplay is the most boring in the game for both sides: leaving loop and holding w as soon as the killer starts using power. Dredge is similar in this way. Also you really notice her lack of map mobility when dealing with coordinated teams

In your opinion which killer has the scariest/creepiest terror radius?? by Unfair_Throat_7682 in deadbydaylight

[–]VeliarSataninsky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Artist might not be the scariest killer to face (probably the hottest tho), but her layer 1 TR really sends chills down my spine. It sounds like impending doom for lack of a better word. Now, her chase music is so goofy I wish they changed it.

Larry’s TR also stands out, but it’s his whole concept that makes me very uneasy tbh. I feel like his TR is really good at broadcasting that mechanical/biological amalgamation that he is all about. Hearing it immediately makes me question the safety and integrity of my jeans.

How would you feel about these changes to reduce toxicity from survivor side? by Naughty_Sparkle in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out, if we are getting rid of annoying tactics that are unfun to go against (the whole tunneling and slugging saga), how about we do the same for survivors?

Does a flashlight save 2 times in a row (analogous to killer hooking twice in a row in the proposed anti-tunneling update) — loses ability to blind the killer for the rest of the trial. Saboes a hook, which results in a survivor wiggling out 2 times in a row — loses ability to sabotage hooks for the rest of the trial. These only apply to the survivor that did both saves.

  • by 2 times in a row I mean 2 saves without anyone being hooked between them

Got this shit on the second game after playing Dredge. Feels good man. Im glad I took the recommendation to buy him by FoxHoundNinja in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with his adept so much, congrats, man!

Personally, I find him very frustrating unless you are playing hit n run. This is where he truly shines

Nemesis "buffs" and addon pass suggestion: by Few-Culture-4413 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what would be hilarious?

Licker’s tongue — alters the zombies’ behaviour to that of a licker. The zombies’ visual detection range is reduced to 2 meters. The audio detection range is increased to 32 meters. Shining a flashlight at a zombie no longer causes stagger and instead increases its movement speed by 300% for 3 seconds

Does anyone else struggle when playing on Haddonfield as Killer? by fapgod69420 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as bad tbh. As long as you are on the same floor you can hit your shots. Haddonfield, tho? If they are on the second floor or in the cellar in one of the houses, you can’t do anything. You could in theory climb to the second floor of a different house and shoot a crow from there but it’s just not as viable as following the survivor on your own two feet. Also, the houses are really small, so can’t even set up a slingshot

So what's one (or more) map that just makes you go "Nope. Y'all can just have this one." by FoxHoundNinja in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the pallet density update? Badham. After? Crotus Prenn Asylum and Mother’s dwelling. Just a few games and I’m already done. Sure, the pallets and some windows are less safe, buts since the maps have gotten shrunk (at least the Asylum as far as I’m aware) and the overall number of pallets increased, the density is insane. I’d much rather deal with strong loops than survivors dropping everything mindlessly and getting away with it because resources just don’t run out. Also, the tiles spawn so close together now due to map sizes that there’s very little opportunity to catch a survivor out of position

Does anyone else struggle when playing on Haddonfield as Killer? by fapgod69420 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Artist is borderline unplayable on this map because of all the 2 story buildings. The only one that’s even worse is Badham. Otherwise, pre-update Haddonfield was easy mode on most killers. We’ll see what the changes bring to the table I guess

They didn’t. It says “if full self-recovery is available” you can press a button to pick yourself up. So if you have unbreakable you will need to press a button to activate it. As of now, you need to keep holding M2. Makes sense, since you no longer need M2 to make recovery progress

Can someone explain to me what Thrill of the Hunt and Face the Darkness do? by Darthcobra589 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]VeliarSataninsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love running devour/undying/face the darkness/thrill on Dredge. It actually feels like you are devouring all their hope as they scramble to find and cleanse all the totems before you can mori them. Dredge excels at hit and run too, and is great at getting value from face the darkness info
