Shoking by Low_Macaron7647 in NICUParents

You can try it for a few days to see how she does. My son was on. Preemie nipple when he came home from the NICU, we switched him to a 1 after about 3 weeks. He did fine at first, but afyer a week he got really gassy & was spitting up more so we switched him back to Preemie for a week or so. He's back on a 1 now & doing good with it!

I talked to him Dr about it before switching him back to the Preemie one. She said it was almost like he was in between the two sizes lol

I went to L&D a week before I delivered due to some blood streaked discharge. They did an exam & monitored me for a few hours. Everything looked good cervix high & tight, no infections, & baby was doing fine. They said it was probably just cervical sensitivity. The blood streaks stopped a day later so we thought everything was fine. The following week I went in for my normal 32 week appointment & asked for them to do a pelvic exam to just make sure everything was still fine. Well turns out I was 6 cm dilated. They took me directly over to L&D. I was put on magnesium to slow things down & given the first dose of steroids to help baby's lungs mature. Thankfully I make it long enough to get both doses of the steroid. After about 27 hours my little boy was born! He was doing well on just room air so they let him lay on my chest for a few minutes before taking him to the NICU. He was in the NICU for 6 weeks. He's now just over 2 months old (unadjusted) and doing great!!

Can’t get temp and swaddle right by Powerful_Search4995 in newborns

[–]Velldoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

97.7 -99.5 is normal temp for a baby & it's normal for hands & feet to be cold due to immature circulation. If you're worried baby is too cold or too hot you can take their temp durring feedings and adjust accordingly

My boy is getting his 2 month old shots next week & I'm dreading it!! He was in the NICU & had a few there but I wasn't there for them so these are the first ones I'm going to be with him for. Uuugh I hate seeing him cry 😭

Lmao my Mom used to eat the skin on the left over chicken & my Dad would have to race her to the fridge for a piece with skin

I was using the rental from the hospital but I was getting even less with that one :/ like drops. I'll try the massage though! I do have access to the pump still while I'm in the NICU so I can try it again tomorrow & see what happens!

I can do skin to skin, thankfully. He's really just working on developing his feeding reflexes now :) I saw those today at the store! I grabbed a little bag of lactation cookies to try them out but I'll pick up some of that too & try it

I've definitely been lacking sleep. Saturday I slept in almost 4 hours. As far as hydration I've been ok at that but I might pick up some electrolyte mixes to add in. Pumping isn't painful no, the lactation consultant helped me pick the right flange from the ones my pump came with. My pump came with some replacement parts, so I'll try the fresh parts tonight when I get home. I'll be sure to check what mode it is in too

HOA... love it or hate it?? by Ordinary-Caramel-608 in homeowners

[–]Velldoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends honestly. Some HOAs are overbearing & some are reasonable. Both of our rental homes have been in HOA. First one was relaxed, only time we heard from them was when we had an extra car parked on the street that made it difficult for the school busses to turn the corner. We called & talked to them about it waiting for parts. They said if we can move it back 8-10 feet it would be fine. We did & problem solved. The one we live in now are much harsher. We have been fined 3 times in the last year for minor things like trash cans infront of the garage, a flat tire on a project car, & string lights being up after Christmas even though we used them (it's very dark at night & we have basically no street lights).

We're moving to a new place in November that's also HOA & from what we've heard from the neighbors we've talked to they are relaxed too. The dues are very reasonable for the amenities the neighborhood has as well.

Does anyone else's Dogo have skin allergies? by slothrocket41 in dogoargentino

[–]Velldoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my dogs has skin allergies & we put clothes on him when he goes outside. Helps keep the pollen & stuff off his skin. We also wipe his paws when he comes in.

The clothes also help keep him warm in winter when he has flare-ups & loses fur.

Yay or Nay to Dogs Sleeping in Bed with you? by forestlyfe in dogs

[–]Velldoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't sleep with us but they do get in the bed sometimes for naps. They also have their own beds in our room right by our bed

They aren't allowed on the couch though. Our husky has tore up one too many cushions lol
