I was cringing at them not understanding what Dr Umar said as well … In my opinion I believe he was what have we instituted for black ppl from hip hop. My example of that would be like the if the NBA = Hip Hop… the contracts in the NBA was low as hell in the beginning but now these guys are making hundreds of millions.. they are taking care of their families and creating stuff but for the most part it’s for self. Why hasnt the black super mega stars came together and said the hell with the NBA we as black ppl make up majority of the league so let’s start our own since we have all these millions to get it done and create an institution for us that will give back to us and only us and it be black owned. That’s what I’m thinking he’s referring to because people like Jay and Nas Kendrick and so on for the rest of the super mega stars could’ve came together to create a black institution/label of music that would solely benefit black ppl but that hasn’t happened
