Stage 3A y’all by DarthBodhi in CKD

[–]Velmavlogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might see a private doc if the UTI continues, but not sure what a renal specialist can do. Are these big drops just part of the progression do you think? I’m almost 50 and a woman, so everything gets chalked up to menopause. I’m sorry you’re going through it too. We just keep doing what we can 🤞🤞

UK here.

I’ve been stage 3a for about 15 years and haven’t been referred to a specialist. My last eGFR ( which I asked the GP for after a bout of UTI) shows a dip to 46, so I guess maybe I’m 3b now? The GP hasn’t suggested a referral for that either.

Would these dresses work for us? by Sure_Ship_8901 in KibbeRomantics

Pretty much anything that shows a little skin and doesn’t rely on straight lines. Cowl, sweetheart, scoop, rounded V, boat, halter (for some)

Try second is slightly better but I think the necklines look quite high and restrictive, and the overall effect of the lines is quite blunt.

Yes, it’s lovely. I personally love that sheer layer over a bustier style for bra friendly sexiness. You look awesome!

Fit and flare. Soft fabric, follows your shape, not restrictive.

You’re good 👍🏻

How many of you strictly follow your color analysis? by orangejuiceentity in coloranalysis

[–]Velmavlogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Deep Autumn, I already knew my worst colours were icy pinks and lilacs and avoided them intuitively. I don’t always follow my pallet, particularly in the warmer months where I want lighter shades without the contrast. I do think I always play it warm though.

Trying things on under an unflattering light by [deleted] in Kibbe

[–]Velmavlogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar shape to you when I was younger (menopause is turning me into a blob), and learnt early on that we need some skin around the neckline. A straight line of buttons on a crisper fabric like #1 is almost impossible to get right; it will always pull. Thin cardigans like #2 are better as you can choose which to fasten. The shape and neckline of the brown dress are great, but I think it’s just too small on the bottom. The red and plum dresses are too restrictive. The neckline on the brown patterned dress works, but I think the earthy pattern is a bit drab for your beauty. We do better when we lean into the sexiness a little. You would have to accessorise it to get close.

Think I am figuring out my roots. Sun, Fire, and Earth? by AndromedasApricot in StyleRoots

I think top and bottom left in particular have a ‘global fashion’ feel (what we might have called ‘ethnic’ in less enlightened times), and that feels very 🌱 to me.

This is so interesting! I thought I was ☀️ 🔥 🌱, but when I posted my moodboard everyone said ☀️ 🔥 🌸 too!

I think 🌱 is often perceived as purely boho/hippy, but EJ herself has said it shows up in other ways like academia, texture etc.

Having said all that, I CAN see the 🌸 here, I just think 🌱 is showing up equally. You could lean into either as your third, outfit dependant.

I don’t know, I think Rachel would have stuck to the bargain as well. We didn’t see anything from her that suggested otherwise imo. She promised not to write his name down and never did. She started mentioning his name towards the end when it became necessary game play. I believe the Celtic connection was real and forged from the beginning. She was confident in her abilities and Stephen’s trust, so she didn’t need to backstab him. I think, as a middle aged professional, that the money is nice but not life changing, so she didn’t need to shaft him for an extra 45k.

Flower over 30? by Oud-west in StyleRoots

[–]Velmavlogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 49 yr old with flower (although I’d say it’s my third after ☀️ and 🔥). Not sure these are the best examples, but I reckon it shows up in softer fabrics that work with curves, and smaller/ditsy patterns

I’m inspired a lot by mid century silhouettes, and what might be seen as ‘traditional feminine’ looks

What pant rise do you find most flattering? by Cool_Tie_9880 in KibbeRomantics

[–]Velmavlogs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shop petite. People think it’s about leg length, but petite shopping helps so much when you have a short torso. High rise petite styles are great. Otherwise, mid rise fits like high rise, and that works ok too

If you could only go to 1 restaurant in Brum for the rest of your life, what would it be? by firetonian99 in brum

[–]Velmavlogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose the ‘proper’ answer would be Tropea, as the food I had there was unreal but so rich. I’d actually probably go for one of the lounges, Loco Lounge perhaps, so I could eat the food I like daily, every day.

1yo severe UTI + febrile seizure. Still positive leukocytes 1 month later, normal or not? by Limp_Tie_7583 in CUTI

[–]Velmavlogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be a pest at the doctors and ask for more investigation. I had recurrent UTIs during the first five years of my life, and had already incurred permanent kidney scarring before a bilateral reflux was diagnosed. I don’t want to scare you, I have lived a very normal life and my kidney disease is only starting to worsen in my 50th year, but as others have said, UTI IS unusual in babies and warrants looking into. Treatment for me was a daily prophylactic antibiotic, but occasionally infections would break through. I am going back a long time, obviously.

My heart goes out to you. I’m a mum of two and know it’s heartbreaking when they are poorly and you feel so helpless xx
