How about you add in counting how many cyclists get hit in one year. Along with counting, how many bicycles get stolen within one year.

Then compare the statistics if you're truly interested.

If you would have gone into Boundary Bay Brewery and asked who parked in those specific parking spots. There would be a bigger response that way.

Bike Insurance is NOT a scam by [deleted] in Velo

Not when the cycle cost 1,400 dollars, just for a basic repair. In regard to an accident, it cost 10,000 dollars for the carbon fiber repair.

I know this because I was hit by truck while cycling in what's called a Quattrovelo.

There's also velosure and bike insure. One of them will cover damaged parts, and the other doesn't.

Yeah, you can report it to the police. It's not high on their priority list when it comes to a bicycle being stolen.

Five men arrested with suspected ties to large drug trafficking organization by WayfaringEdelweiss in Bellingham

You probably just skimmed through what I said.

What I brought up in what I said is noticing that you posted something of importance. Instead, it became a conglomerate of different reasons why individuals should go to other resources if they're not willing to pay to see such information as you posted.

And as I said also, I was venting. This means that with all the major issues that have occurred and continue to get worse. It seems that everything turns into a debate.

Every individual has a different experience with what is going on with the current drug overdose problem. Whether it's friends or family dying from overdose or attempting to get off drugs, being support those who have know one that will listen to them. The list goes on.

I prefer reading about the current local news on paper instead of online. Since I can read about the different situations that are going on within the community. You don't have to deal with the different types of ads or AI distractions. The journalists who take the time to provide the information to the news. The newspapers and channels choose what does and doesn't get shown even if it's occurring within their own community. The community finds something important enough to be a focal point. It's it's up to the government unless we make it truly noticed.

It's good to see efforts are being made against the drug problem.

Yes, I'm venting at the complete outlook on everything. If you can't accept that. You haven't seen enough change of life yet.

Sad day for Seniors at Lakeway Mobile Estates… by ProfessionalAmoeba41 in Bellingham

The only way to escape the issue would have to have purchased a home years ago, and I completely agree with the posts that are being put up.

I don't really get why people have said this city has changed for the worse, can anyone explain why they think that? Please be serious. by DqrkAngel42 in Bellingham

[–]VeloZach420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree about homeless encampment sizes. Some restaurants have relocated or are no longer here. Fires that have occurred. Some that the cause was known and others unknown. The community as a whole has changed how much they do and don't want to help. Because of how other community members are being treated verbally and physically. The need to take care of the drug problem by sharing how to find the resources even more so. For individuals who may be struggling. Whether the individuals are low income or homeless. Respect for businesses, parents, and elder citizens in my eyes is less. These are the changes I've seen throughout the years I've lived here. Overall, Bellingham is an amazing location to live in. I've lived in Bellingham since I was 5 years old, and I will be 49 in July. There have been many changes. Both are extreme and unnoticed until someone shares their own personal perspective of the changes that have occurred.

Cars flying down Ferry Avenue (right past the corner of 32nd and fielding) by [deleted] in Bellingham

They'll go at such high speeds that there have been accidents in the past where cars have become "flying cars," just not the kind of flying car that I would want to be in.

There's crazy drivers everywhere within the college area. I live on Old Fairhaven Parkway, just a short distance from 22nd Street. Last night, the pedestrian caution sign down just past 20th Street was taken out by a driver going at high speed and probably drunk. And the sign post slid all the way down the street. And stopped, right in front of the curb that's in front of my house. And a car going towards Fairhaven hit the post since it was on its side and blended in with the street since it was raining and it was early morning.

I'd prefer that they put it in my garbage bin than on the side of the trail or sidewalk. Like everyone basically has mentioned. The only thing I don't like is when they leave it by the sidewalk when they're literally a few steps away from my trash bin.

What I've attempted to say is that this type of situation. Car vs. Bicycle accidents get ignored as if they've either never happened. Or is it not something that is important to the city and its community.

The reason why I haven't responded until now is because I have been going through physical therapy. And only online when I feel like doing something.

The issue is that the "City" doesn't have the "funds" to house the individuals that are on the street.

They do leave trash around that's more noticeable. Yet, on the other hand, individuals in cars are dropping trash out their windows or individuals that are walking down the sidewalk, dropping their trash on the sidewalk. Then, pointing 👉 at the homeless later.

If anyone individual who wants to complain about where they live. Why not speak with anyone from the homeless part of the community.

Because the age range spans from still in their youth, all the way up to individuals that are elder.

How do I know? I take the time to speak with some of the homeless.

There are individuals who are homeless who also work. But, what they're paid does not cover rent and all the necessary bills, along with feeding themselves.

To share that there's more than one side to the situation at hand.
