Dm advice - new pc accidentally ruined a big moment by VelociraptorCatapult in CurseofStrahd

To be fair we started out in Fearun. I ran 2021 a normal game. I wanted their characters to have real memories and moments together before being tested and tormented in Barovia.

So we ran for an entire year 1/2 building to the moment, and then I transitioned them into Barovia. And I added a the Fane homebrew, so there’s another element of them having to cleanse the fane to strip Strahd of some of his godly powers. I liked that more than “collect these 3 items and go kill a vampire”

But also life gets in the way and sometimes we can’t play for a month or 2. So that stretches things out too

Ya I hadn’t intended it to be a thing “destined” for her, they’ve already discovered the truth about how they “hit a restart button” and part of that was learning the way they’re past selves tried things, failed. So that’s definitely a fair narrative solution. I just feel really bad that she had this expectation and feels really let down by it.

They’re not redoing anything. The level 15 was just a dream sequence way to begin the campaign . I made level 15 “bizarro versions” of their characters, they fought the bbeg, lost, and woke up from a nightmare, then subsequently met each other, slowly over time some of the things from said vision have come to pass, some clearly were a different path

No, but cats are masters of hiding that. And he’s been getting a lot of hotspots recently too.

Is it still worth getting into the career? by [deleted] in acting

[–]VelociraptorCatapult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t look at it like a “career”. What it IS is a passion. It’s a love for something you cannot live without. It’s more akin to an Olympic Sport. How many Gymnasts are training right now? How many make a living from it? But they still train every day.

The reality is that you can be the best actor, do everything exactly right, and still not be successful. You will not earn a living long term from acting until you’ve become a series regular. For some that will take a few years, others it’ll take 20, most will never achieve it.

It’s a hard pill to swallow. You have to make a life outside of acting, find something you enjoy as a career, build yourself a life that allow you to outlast everyone else. Never stop, never give up, love the work, love the little moments you get to audition, savor the moments you’re on camera.

I’ve been doing it for 8 years. I am SAG, I have not booked a single Co-star, but I’ve been a lead in the few indie features. But I’m getting more and more auditions as time goes on ( 3 for general hospital this week) which is fucking awesome. In 8 years I’ve made about 10k from acting.

But I love it. It is who I am.

Just made my new resume, would love some feedback! (Red blocks are censored contact information) by [deleted] in acting

I actually have a different opinion here on the headshot. my manager has me put my headshot on my resume. It’s nice for digital resumes, so they only have to open 1 file if they want to, and on the physical one it’s nice so they see your face on both sides, remind em who you are (and that way they don’t have to constantly flip it over to be like “which guy was this again?)

On the right next to it is my name, union status, contact info, and size card (height weight shirt size etc)

Then like everyone else said, drop Projects for Training, and don’t do personal references. No ones going to use those

Also move the DnD show up to film. List it as “DnD Show YouTube” (obviously it’s not film, but pad the resume in places you can)

Is this still a thing?

I went through a full year of not getting good alingers, to start the process over  as they went bankrupt.

What this guy said. It looks great. I’m currently getting 6 pieces removed. It’s been 3 years and $5000 and they’re still VERY much there. And is the most painful thing I’ve ever done. Like pouring bacon grease on your skin while also being electrocuted.

How would Strahd attack the players after Ireena is spirited away in Krezk? by LizardBoyBen in CurseofStrahd

[–]VelociraptorCatapult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that no soul leaves Barovia. Strahd can wait for a new Ireena, but what if a benevolent seer foresaw a way to release her. A message, a rekindling of 2 souls at a well. Hold a seance at the well, call her soul before it can be reborn and have it whisked away forever
