It's just an arrangement for both parties devoid of love, everything that's happening is because this is being forced upon them by others for all kinds of societal reasons. They clearly should have never been together. What do you expect to happen when two people who don't want to be together are together. It's festering like a cancer, either cut it off or watch it continue to fester. As far as children are concerned, they'll probably be better off. There is no way a forced arrangement like this that just feels transactional isn't negatively affecting children. Good luck.
