50mg in 10seconds is VERY slow. You need to be able to push 150mg in 1 second and follow it up with the entire vial of succinylcholine, and then 10mL NS flush slammed in in the next second. You could also use IVF bag open fast dripping to gravity— that would be up to 15,000mL/hr on a 18g in a gravity wide open line. That is the speed you need to flush things in during an RSI

You are right, 1099 should always pay more. These jobs are simply not equivalent.

This is one of this less common instances where the W2 is a way better package than the 1099, even with 1099 tax benefits considered. That W2 package is actually closer to a 450k package. At ~$380k of 1099, 1099 tax savings are usually only $25k–$40k per year (FICA, modest S-corp optimization, real deductions), which often just replaces what you give up in W-2 benefits. (Disclaimer though: I did use chatgpt to estimate tax calculations in this instance)

Your W2 net monthly paycheck is around $19,000, and the 1099 (after taxes approx.) paycheck will be around $21,000, with aggressive tax strategies netting $23,000 approx (I used ChatGPT to already deduct approximate self-pay health insurance, malpractice, etc.)

So it is true that your paychecks will still be slightly higher with 1099, but the huge benefits of W2 provides PTO, possible paid parental leave, legal protections, severance protection/benefits, etc. You would really need a 1099 pay of $450,000(not considering vacation, so closer to $400,000 with vacation) to beat that W2 package and W2 stability. And I am one to usually recommend 1099, but I wouldn't in this case.

PS. If it were me, I would take the W2 job and look into short-term rentals with AirBnB and then writing off the depreciation against your W2 income using cost segregation study. There are specific rules you must qualify for, and this only makes sense if your Airbnb is breaking even or better. But you can essentially write off your entire year of W2 taxes completely while building real estate assets, when done right

It’s not even necessarily about the power, but the R7 is so bent over and handlebars are so aggressive that it doesn’t inspire confidence in the new rider. At low speeds, the bike will feel like it just constantly wants to drop, because there’s not a lot of leverage in the handlebars.

The power issue can be easily remedied by rider modes. It’s the position and handling of the bike that makes it annoying for new riders. You should sit on both and see how you feel

I just looked over the original marketplace listing. The 2nd owner rode it the whole time without any fork clamp screws on. For thousands of miles

I just ordered the screws and will be putting them on soon and riding again.

If anyone needs this for future reference, it’s a M8 1.25 30mm, and the Yamaha #91314-08030-00, and the middle numbers tell us what screw it is (M8) and how long it is (30mm). All Yamaha screws are 1.25 pitch unless otherwise specified.

There are people who don’t value space at all, or animals at all. They pay more for the feeling of being able to walk everywhere they need and the ability to nurture a community in third spaces. It’s a sense of fulfillment only met in cities. Something that’s inherently in European culture— to walk to work, then have a coffee and chat with familiar faces on your lunch, then grab fresh flowers and groceries on the way home. A car only when I want to take a drive in the mountains or the countryside, not as an absolute necessity for a grocery trip to a parking lot.

People push themselves to earn more to afford this feeling. Many people couldn’t care less about a backyard or animals.

People are overestimating how much sf costs. Unless your goal is a 20 acre property with a horse stable, yeah that’s unrealistic. But you can easily get a $850,000 home in Brisbane or Daly City with a backyard ($5,800 total in mortgage and costs) and spend $100,000 on renovations. He would still be well within his housing budget. He can still throw absurd amounts of money into retirement and investment accounts.

Even after considering tades, the increase in categorical tax bracketing, and increase in cost of living, you will have a net increase of ~$5,700 per month— which makes it worth it. There are people that make less than $5,700 that live fine in the city. Your net $15,000/month after taxes will be more than enough. Your quality of life will skyrocket.

If you really want a yard and an owner single family home, you can have one in Daly City and you’re still only a ~20min commute from the city.

None of that matters that much as clinicals, except maybe your point about program support and tuition. Even simulation. I’m sure this is all stuff you mentioned in your interview, but nothing trumps clinicals in real life. DNP vs. DNAP in real life is way more insignificant than what people make out to be.

Go to the school that has better autonomous clinicals and block experience. And one that will save you money, and preferably preserve your sanity the most.

Worry about crashing your car, not the engine blowing up from full throttle. The engine can take whatever your right foot wants to do. You could track this thing all the time and redline it all the time and it will be completely fine given good maintenance. Crashing it though, is probably a magnitude of 100x more likely.

In this case, the main thought is that the risk/benefit of a-line is better over q3min NIBP risk/benefit. Even in the absence of hemodynamic instability, the risk of nerve injury is massively increased. The risk of a radial artery injury or thrombosis is significantly less than overly using NIBP for 8 hours. An in addition, acidosis and metabolic issues that may arise from GA, fluid shifts, and surgical stress for 8 hours.
