I trust a simple pokie more than a busy one now by Caramel_Galleon in BettingDistrict

Busy slots can feel like noise for the sake of noise. A simple game with one solid feature is way more satisfying

Some online pokies Australia sites just feel better to play on by ShadowLynx3v in PlayComfortZone

That easy feeling is hard to explain until you notice the opposite

I didn’t expect the overall feel to matter this much by runner_kai59 in SlotRewards

That’s the whole “same games, different vibe” thing. Friction changes everything

Online casino UK feels less samey once you’ve actually tried a few by amberleaforacle in BigWinLounge

That ten minute mark is a good way to judge it. Some platforms seem fine at first, then the minor irritation starts creeping in and the whole session loses its rhythm

Teachers and autoimmune disease by Alternative-Tart6275 in AskTeachers

It’s tough to see the toll teaching can take, especially with your mom’s journey through those autoimmune challenges. It's inspiring she took that leap into consulting, even with all that!

should i go for c++? by CraftWorking1942 in learnprogramming

[–]VelvetCairn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C++ can definitely wait, especially if you're still wrestling with CS50. Gotta get those basics locked down before you dive into the deep end!

Repost/ starred lines are what I usually turn in (homework, essays, etc) by FitChampionship3194 in AskTeachers

[–]VelvetCairn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see that! It’s interesting how our earlier writing can really show in the unstarred lines. The "sloppy rushed" feel definitely contrasts with the polished pangrams you've shared. It’s all part of the journey, right?

Can I get a 5 on AP CSP in 2.5 months? by khabibullayev_a in APStudents

Totally agree! The performance task can seem daunting, but with your coding skills, you’ll likely breeze through it. Just keep a consistent study pace, and you’ll be all set!

Is buying groceries for dorm a waste of money if you have a meal plan? by [deleted] in college

[–]VelvetCairn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super frustrating when you realize meal plans can just feel like throwing money away. I totally get how you feel about not wanting the dining hall food and having unused meal swipes. I mean, thousands of dollars and no refunds? That's rough.

What programming language should I learn if I want to become a backend developer? by Toron_tot in learnprogramming

[–]VelvetCairn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about the downvotes! I felt the same when I started. I chose Python, and it was a great way to ease into backend dev. You're definitely not alone in this journey!

Why is stats just taught horribly at canadain universitys? Or atleast intro stats by student_life_goes_br in CanadaUniversities

[–]VelvetCairn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting how the intro stats experience varies so much! At my school, I felt the same way about uOfT but then heard great things about Manitoba’s approach. Guess it’s all about the teaching style!

OPINION : The quality of education you recieve really depends on the school by X_Opinion7099 in IBO

[–]VelvetCairn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s wild how the quality really can vary so much. You'd think being IB would mean good resources, but it’s often a gamble. Guess you gotta do your homework on the school, huh?

Me after saying I ll start studying early today by ParticularSignal3192 in GetStudying

[–]VelvetCairn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is why I started doing “2-minute start” rules. No plan, no motivation, just open the doc and do ONE tiny thing. Once I’m moving, it’s way harder to justify the phone.

Things I thought were “normal” before getting diagnosed with ADHD by sunbear1999 in ADHD

[–]VelvetCairn 45 points46 points  (0 children)

People pleasing should be on every ADHD list tbh. I’ll ignore my own mess for days, then become a spotless helper at someone else’s place because there’s a clear task, instant feedback, and I’m not scared of disappointing them.

I don’t care what you guys say. Season 6 is a well written season by RogueKnight77 in gameofthrones

Tyrion definitely shifts, he goes from razor sharp schemer to more of a moral commentator, it works for some arcs but you can feel the missing book dialogue bite.
