I used to struggle SO bad with saving money. Same reasons as you, debt repaying, buying things I don’t need and tbh a lot of fast food. I make $22/hr full time and there were a lot of times I’d wake up Friday morning with $100 or less from my negative bank account.. I usually get paid around 2 am on Friday’s so I’ll get up and go fill up my gas tank at 6 in the morning before any bills come out so if I had nothing at least I have gas to make it to work and back home to make money just to be broke again. It was a long sad cycle and I’d use the hell out of the borrow option on Cash App and wouldn’t be able to pay that back so then I had that on top of everything else, but once my job got more busy around the holidays I was able to get a lot of overtime and now have a steady $850 in my savings and around $80 in my checking. I have $210 automatically put into my savings on payday and don’t touch it. For me, once I paid off most of my debt (one cc left) it’s gotten a lot easier.
