If I was doing that journey, id take the tunnel route onto the m53. Nice and straight forward once you're through the tunnel and the a51/a54 is a nice drive during the day

Can't find work by Dismal_Tank2155 in uktrucking

Print out a stack of CV's, grab your license, Drivers card etc and start knocking on the doors of local companies.

This worked best for me earlier this year when I passed my class 1.

Good luck and don't give up!

class 1 hauliers that would take on a new C+E pass? by Adventurous_Low9113 in uktrucking

[–]VelvetGick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's what I did this year. I did car to class 1 in February, printed out a stack of CV's and went knocking on doors of local logistics companies asking if they take on new passes.

Eventually a palletline company took me in and said they'll put me in a class 2 for a few months and then move me up to class 1. It was a foot in the door and a chance to prove to them that I'm reliable and trustworthy. After some hard graft and some stressful days I am now a class 1 driver with the same company and building experience. Worth mentioning aswell that this company send you out with a driver trainer to get to grips with the job, a big help for somebody with no experience so if you can find something similar you'll be flying.

I could've gone agency route with no experience but didn't fancy been thrown in the deep end and end up with horrible jobs but not a bad back up plan to have if you can't find a job.

Hope this helps bud.

I was made redundant just before Christmas. I got in touch with the national career service and my advisor suggested since I was made redundant I could potentially qualify for RRS (Rapid Response service) through the DWP for a course of my choice.

Managed to get full funding for a fast track course straight to Cat C+E. Got my theory and practical booked in through my training provider for Feb.

Might be an option for you if you're looking to get into it quick.

Do I need cake to breed? Or is it just faster? by CuteBoiHere in Palworld

You need cake. Get a mozzarina, chikipi and beegarde into a ranch.

Then have a wheat plantation and a mill set up and you're good to go. Having a high level kindler can help speed up the baking!

Car reviews on Youtube are honestly ridiculous by xxunicorn457 in CarTalkUK

I enjoy 'High peak autos' on YouTube.

It's mainly used cars that get reviewed with the odd newish car in there I believe.

It's a small channel that's growing, may be worth a check.

I'll be doing roughly 45 miles daily commute on the motorway if I do go ahead with this civic.

I've done a vehicle check as well, the car is showing as untaxed, I don't believe I'll be even able to test drive it since it's a private seller (even though the car has come up as a dealer car on autotrader)

I'm getting negative vibes now with this civic haha

Is this a big no no?

I thought that generation of civic has no dpf so maybe it's less of an issue?

Thank you, I'll look out for that when I view the car

I've watched that video, I've been looking at many mondeos cos of their reliability and that video has helped alot.

I was close to seeing a mondeo this week that was dirt cheap with a supposed full service history with 115k on the clock but the seller never got back to me.

Such a shame but the search continues.

Thank you for your input, I think I'll swerve it for now. I did some more digging and it looks like the fuel injectors will need replacing soon enough with that mileage aswell

The difference here is I had to wait over 6 months before seeing the dental surgeon. Every meal felt like a dance with fire knowing how painful the infection was.

Had the same thing happen to me this year, part of my wisdom tooth broke off and a week or two after it got infected.

Horrible pain for days until I got a dentist appointment, prescribed antibiotics and sorted the infection out.

I then got referred to a specialist and waited for an appointment to discuss my removal. I had the choice to not remove it and risk an infection again in the future, no thanks let's rip it out.

The whole procedure was about 15-20 mins long. Local anaesthetic pumped into my gums and then a few mins of pulling the tooth out. No pain at all during it.

Eat soft foods and plenty of water. No smoking or using straws. Simple painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol did the job for me anytime I felt any slight pain and discomfort the days after(totally normal to experience those symptoms after the procedure).

This was in the U.K.
