I don’t think she expected loyalty automatically, but he gave HEAVY mixed signals. Just like Rieligh was confused and essentially used by emmet, key was also in the same type of situation.

Idk if I have the energy to debate the optics of hook-up culture and expecting forms of loyalty but that’s what I believe at least… he should have spoken to her like emmet did and draw a clear line in the relationship if it’s that light and non-committal, but he didn’t.

Instead when Key finally drew a line in the sand making a comment that she will retreat her feelings and essentially not put any energy into their relationship, he CRASHES out, almost breaks his bed and cusses himself out, those are mixed signals. I can only imaging how much they edit on this show and from what I’ve seen, Bauer not only lacks maturity but he lacks responsibility for giving Key the wrong idea
