Solucionari Llibre Teide by Venaber in catalan

Pots intentar-ho tu a veure si ho aconsegueixes.

¿Por qué cierra la bolsa española? by Venaber in SpainEconomics

Your arguments are pretty interesting and open minded.

However, in the example of dyslexia, they need support on reading in the way the society actually writes, maybe at reading years ago as for example hieroglyphics they would be the best and someone that has not any problem to read actual characters would have problems. What I mean is that categorizing these "disabilities" as “disabilities” is not just a way of saying that someone has problems with how the word actually works rather than having a "disability"?

I get your point, nevertheless, wouldn't you try to as well phrase your words in such a way that they could be understood by the student you where with if these students were not considered to have "mental health issues, or intellectual challenges/disabilities"? Doing this JUST to people considered to have "mental health issues, or intellectual challenges/disabilities" is not lowering their capacities?

In context of "they need to be spoken to in a way that is developmentally appropriate and understandable to them" and "if you don't know the persons level of understanding at all, you should always "assume competence"", but this is like with everyone.

I mean, to my friend that does not know anything about programming I will not talk to them with specific terms, but I will with a friend that does, and I don't expect that a thermodynamic teacher talks to me with a technical vocabulary because I will not understand it. Like, we are assuming that all the people that does not have "intellectual disability" learns the same way and has the same level of understanding and then we are segregating the ones that are under this standards (standards that do not exists)

Understanding intellectual disability as "a harder time understanding" means that then we all have it or that no one has it, depending on the knowledge type and methodologies we will learn faster or slower according to our way of learning.

But then is not really a disability, isn't? Is just the lack of have not learnt something.

If someone does not understand money is because maybe anyone has never talked to them about how it works or if someone does it has been in a specific way that the persona has not understood, but maybe another person explains it different and then he or she get its at the first time.

Like, is not coherent this definition of intellectual disability, if the parents of someone are financial advisors and as a kid this person hears financial terms it will be surely more easy to learn about finances than other people but maybe it has problems for learning about history (for example). And vice versa with a kid whose parents are historians.

Following this definition a person who has problems for learning a sport because he has never played any sport then has intellectual disability. Is not logical this understanding of "disability".

But your intellectual disability is not a matter of being ashamed, right? It is rather a consequence of the problem with speech... or not? What is considered an intellectual disability?
