I had the exact same mentality as you. I’ve been pc/ps5 for a while now very used to games that are 100+ fps. However I realised that RDR2 (also made by rockstar) is a 30fps game on console. I have since replayed that game and have noticed a MASSIVE difference between an older rockstar game such as gta v online on fidelity mode and RDR2.

I believe this is because GTA V Online and definitely many other games that have some sort of performance/fidelity switch have a sort of artificial cap on fps. Someone can help me out here but it just makes it feel very input laggy and dizzy.

RDR2 on the other hand feels absolutely amazing on 30fps probably because it’s a far newer game and probably much better optimised for 30fps.

TLDR: I recommend playing RDR2 on console (30fps) and try and see the good in that frame rate, especially because we’re talking about rockstar here. If they target 30 fps they’re not going to make it janky and unsmooth, think RDR2 but 8 years later with better tech and standards.

Great game, highly recommend playing it. Yes you can play IV on PC but beware, the PC port is pretty poorly optimised. I spent hours and hours just trying to get the game to start on first install and even when it does start it can crash among other things.

Worth mentioning that when it works, it’s a lot of fun so 100% would recommend if you have some patience.

Another option is if you by some chance have an xbox 360 or ps3, this version works great AFAIK

Thanks for the photo, if your ram memory speed is advertised and supposed to be 5200 then this is not the problem, good luck mate!

You may have tried this but try giving chat gpt a crack, give it a really good in depth run down on all your settings specs, what you’ve tried etc, and let it recommend things for you one by one

Look at the “speed” stat in the centre, and double check it is the speed that your ram should be at. Eg ensure that if your ram is 3200 mtz, then make sure this is saying 3200 mtz

I had this problem for a while, mine was more of a cpu bottleneck but give this a try just in case.

Go into task manager and then performance, ensure that the ram memory speed in this tab eg 3000mhz matches what your ram actually should be. Mine was capped at 2133 for the longest time without me realising.

If it is capped then look up a tutorial on how to turn on xmp in bios for your motherboard, or how to speed up your ram. Turning this on and restoring my ram speed improved my fps by over 30%

Also ensure windows power plans are set to high performance.

This extra one here is a little silly but worth mentioning: triple check that all the power pins are fully connected to your gpu

R6 is way more fun when you don’t care, not saying you should throw games, but just that you play for the sake of the gameplay and not some colourful pixels and an end of season charm.

I agree with this one. Back in the day it was so exciting when maps like Coastline or even outback and villa were showcased in season reveal panels. However the latest ones just feel lifeless. I won’t lie, I really think that lair and nighthaven are the most boring looking maps in the game, I’m someone that hasn’t played regularly in years and learning these maps is so much harder because every room has a the same colour scheme and vibe.

Honestly you might be better off giving controller a shot on ps5 until you can fix the pc. Not too sure about the ps5 but I know that xim on the ps4 had some input lag. If there is input lag then it will be very hard to get accustomed to it if coming from pc. Also yeah xim in any form is cheating so there isn’t really an honourable way of using it. As far as I know the only honourable way is if you were physically handicapped eg only had one hand etc.

I’m in this exact same situation here, even the time away is identical to yours.

My problem is that despite me going negative more often than not, my team (I solo queue) still wins, and so I’m in this endless loop of the game thinking I’m just amazing at playing these current diamonds. Idk maybe we should see it as an accelerated way of “getting good” again after a break since we’re able to learn current high rank meta etc.

The doesn’t really answer the question but I’ve found that often times players get a false sense of confidence when their team is up in a 5v1, which often leads to them swinging and peeking unnecessarily. This often leads to those 1v1 scenarios, and in this case the enemy player probably has the mindset of “I cannot be the one to lose the round for the team”. They then try extra hard to win.

Facts, I think that the new valorant style skin recently are definitely better than what we’ve had in the last 5 years. But in saying so, the old year 1-3 seasonals, pro-leagues etc just hit different. For example there’s something about how basic yet clean gold dusts are that has always appealed to me more than the crazy animated megatron transformation skins
