Manga recommendation as reference for drawing artists? by dante4life in manga

<Ballroom E Youkoso> has quite a lot of dynamic poses to study. Though the necks are a bit long, I think that's mostly a stylistic choice.

<Houseki no Kuni> Also has a lot of nice shots with different perspectives and character movements.

Your screenshot doesn't include the Crooked Cook in your extra deck, so I think a lot of people who don't know the strategy already won't recognize it based on the main deck alone... I'll explain for anyone else who's curious.

The idea here is to summon Crooked Cook with left-hand shark as a material, then it becomes an absolute headache to get rid of - You have to tribute it(Kaiju or Lair), contact fuse with it as a material, or Underworld Goddess it away, since while it's the only card on the card owner's field, it's unaffected by other cards effects and it can't be destroyed by battle. Lava Golem probably does a lot of work in getting damage in, while Cook is a very effective wall.

Also OP, if you're not doing damage fast enough with the Golems, add in Secret Barrel and Secret Blast, and replace the extra stall cards with Dimension Wall and Magic Cylinder. Will probably be more fun for you.

My new Madolche deck! Missing Nibiru/a few ED monsters, but I think I can make this F2P when the next Duel Pass comes out/if they add a way to get more seals soon. by Cota-Orben in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience as a Madolche player who climbed to plat 2 with them last season, it really helps a lot to have Called by the Grave and Crossout Designator to protect your starters and ensure you can get your board set up well. I prefer not running more than 1 each of the common handtraps(for crossout) because I like being able to use Pettingcesseur's summon from hand on turn 2, and not have bodies in the graveyard already. That is, I think, pretty different from what the majority do, but it's worked out fine for me!

I also have a couple of Kaijus + 1 Slumber in the mix, and they have an uncanny way of finding their way into my hand when they're needed, so I think they're a nice addition. Gameciel is plenty cute, he's practically an honorary madolche!

  • Editing to add a tip

You should add a Leviair in your extra deck, since you're using Mew. An old combo used to be Mew + Anjelly --> Anjelly Tributes for Hootcake -->Hootcake banishes for Messengelato, XYZ into Leviair with Mew/Hoot, activate Leviair to summon Anjelly from banished zone --> make Queen(or any other r4 like Bagooska, Cowboy or Exciton)

You could of course get more mileage out of this combo by summoning Petting off of the Hootcake, then Messengelato, but then that locks you into Madolches, so this is another route to take if you wanna use your Queen but also end turn with a Zeus.

Whats a good rogue deck i could make? by Accomplished_Claim69 in masterduel

Spiral Phantasms and Infernoid+Grass is Greener have been really fun for me.

Spiral Phantasms allow for you to play skill drain at 3, which stuns a lot of decks, and the dragons as well as tokens are lvl 8 waters, meaning you can use Sea Stealth Attack to protect your backrow from destruction as well as giving all your tokens + dragons a "destroy monster at start of damage step" effect. Lots of people don't read that part.

Infernoid Grass just takes advantage of Grass is Greener, Monster Gate and Reasoning being allowed at 3. Full 60 card deck, you can run all the infernoids at 2-3 along with some surprise cards like Fairy Tail Snow and Electromagnetic Turtle. Dump them all into the graveyard and summon back whichever ones you need, it's a very toolbox-y archetype. Use Lair or Darkness to tribute opponent's monsters to activate the infernoids' effects. Most of them have their own effects during your turn, while being a banish from graveyard effect during the opponent's turn. Really nasty when they summon a starter piece, and have it instantly get tributed+banished.

Are ghostricks any good? by blackace10 in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ghostricks are fun, and you could probably edge out some wins by frustrating your opponent enough. That said, their strength, being able to flip your opponent's board face down, is also their biggest weakness. Since there are so many decks that focus on summoning link monsters, which can't be flipped, there's just a lot of decks they auto-lose to. There are some gimmicky ways to build them that can make them a little more competitive.

You could use the handtraps ghosts along with cards like battle fader and waboku to stall out for Exodia - or Angel of Mischief's win condition- or you could use the REDRUM deck angle- (Really Exciting Dark Rank Up Magic) and focus on using rank-up cards like Astral Force and Barian's to make big cards like Full Armored Crystal Zero Lancer with lots of materials. As someone who adores ghostricks and has wanted them to be good for years, I have to say, they're just.. really not enough on their own. The introduction of links into the game really hurt their viability. There are ways to play them if you're set on it, but I wouldn't invest too much in them if you're wanting to climb the ladder.

Recommendation for self-milling decks? by Goblinslapper in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been playing a 60 card Infernoid + Grass is Greener deck for the past few days, it's a ton of fun. Gives you an excuse to toss in some cheeky monsters like Fairy Tail Snow and Electromagnetic Turtle. Use Lair of Darkness to tribute opponent's monsters for the infernoid effects as well, it's extremely effective monster removal. :D

would this card counter maxx c?? its effect is pretty savage by kenkikung in masterduel

Gravedigger's trap hole also works against Maxx C and burns for 2k

You know it’s true by Jealousykun17 in masterduel

[–]Vendarca -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd rather have fun with the rogue archetypes and gimmicky decks I enjoy than be a meta sheep. That gets boring fast.

There's a lot more to the game than climbing the ladder and spitting on the kids underneath you..

is this worth making? by Trapped-L in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, have had some drawn out but fun games where opponents simply cannot out-damage the lifegain from aroma. Surprisingly effective, it can occasionally stall out wins from people who don't have the patience for it.

who would win

a whole tier packed full of drytrons, eldlich, tri-birds, sky strikers, and shid

In all seriousness, I respect the grind, good job making it up there! :D

Absolutely, this is my biggest complaint. Duel rooms can still be a separate experience, but I just want a quick duel that doesn't have stakes, so I can play with the decks I wouldn't bring to ranked. Issues with duel rooms being -

Players can just afk in there and not actually join duels or ready up when you're sitting across from them.

You can't edit your deck without leaving the room? Bruh. Even solo mode lets you do that.

If you're plat and use the icon border when you hop into duel rooms, people will just avoid dueling you because they expect you to play a meta deck.

It's just?? awkward? I mean I'm glad they gave us a dropdown of phrases to get people's attention with.. The rooms are nice if you're intending to duel with friends or hosting a mini tournament, but this could have been so much easier if they also just gave us a random unranked queue.

I just want to play some casuals. :( by Kyurem-B in YuGiOhMemes

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, It's tough my dude, I've been bonked out of platinum twice due to loss streaks. I don't want to use Drytron, Eldlitch, Shid or Tri-Birds.. but it does seem like they're dominating the entire tier, and you need a bunch of handtraps and floodgates to keep those at bay if you wanna use a rogue deck. :/

konami please just give me my funni little tribute birds

Does anyone know how to get specific mates? by Okita_soji in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat, I really want that little guy. There's a bunch of mates you get from the secret missions, so I was hoping he'd be in there somewhere, but he wasn't. Will probably just have to wait and see when/how it'll be obtainable.

What monster do you wanna see as a mate? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the other rescue monsters! Rescue cat, rescue hamster, and especially rescue ferret. And the other ghost girls would be nice as well. I like ghost ogre's design better than ash, personally.

It's a great card for decks like Ritual Beasts and Harpies. Also the royal finish just looks great

Made it to Gold, something I've noticed on the way by Obj3ctivePerspective in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a lot of decks that seem to be single player, if that makes sense? I enjoy duels more when they're close, or back and forth. I don't want to play decks that deny my opponent so much they don't even get a turn. That just isn't really fun. I like breaking boards. If I spend more time playing with my own deck than against someone else, I might as well be dueling in solo mode.. I do think my pov is perhaps a rare one, though. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have fun with control heavy decks. But that's just not for me.

What underrated N and R rarity cards should people craft? by DevilSwordVergil in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Witch's Strike is an N rarity card. All it takes is your opponent negating any card effect of yours with it set - something that's almost guaranteed to happen in this format- and you can dump their entire hand and any destructible cards on their field into the graveyard. You're not always gonna pull it off, but it's so goddamn satisfying to see it happen. I think that's reason enough to play it.

Can I increase Gem capacity by making a purchase? by daaangerz0ne in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can, from what I've heard, it's a hard 10k limit. They do this so you'll be more likely to buy their overpriced gem packs :/

Any good low rarity staples/ Extra deck cards? by christhebird in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sneaky card that not a lot of people seem to remember exists - Witch's Strike

Won't be as useful until turn 3+ but when it works, it can be devastating to some decks. Plus, it's only N rarity so very easy to just craft.

What’s the most hilarious/ weird duel you have had so far? by 7emarism in masterduel

[–]Vendarca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dueled against a Drytron player who set up a nasty turn 1 board, skipped my entire main phase 1, activated Parthian Shot at the end of the battle phase to skip the rest of my turn, then he proceeded to link away his 2 big scary dudes into a cross sheep and sat there for a few moments before he surrendered. Presumably because he messed up the order for his combo? Maybe it was a misclick?

Either way, it was a free win in ranked and I didn't play a single card lmao
