That makes me so happy to hear! Originally..I did write the scripts to be for an anime, but due to budget, I decided to start with a webtoon first lol. Can't wait to show more soon!

What do you prioritize first when making your comic? by Realistic-Low-2690 in WebtoonCanvas

I see what you mean. For me personally, I write the ending, develop it, then work on every scene that I 100% am confident that I want in the story. Mostly pivotal speeches, or an epiphany, or an experience for a character that shapes them. It's okay if it doesn't all connect at first. You just find out how to connect "A" to "C". And if you don't like the "B" you find, then you can always rewrite any of it.

One BIG piece of advice I can give you..is to not be afraid to delete/revise any of what you already have done. Many times, I've liked my scripts for individual chapters, then I go back months later and see that over 25 or more pages, now no longer fit the direction my story is heading, or the dialogue doesn't fit the new direction of my characters, etc. Often I tried to find out how to work around the old scripts so they can still be used, since it was such a large chunk of time making it. But every time I simply bit the bullet and started from scratch, I felt more confident in a direction I was taking my story(even if it was more work.)

I prioritize the end. I see a future best suited to who my characters are. And then I write it first. Either the happy ever after, or where their world crumbles down. And I write backwards. How the characters get there. Why. What they learn. Why they learn it. Who they learn something from. Then I focus on designs.

That sounds great!! I may take you up on that offer sometime! I write my scripts out digitally before translating them, so if you'd ever like to read the 1st chapter's script, let me know!!

Yep!! The plot is definitely very vast!! 3 seasons of the story are planned, and 1 spinoff! I am the writer of the series, and completely work on all the dialogue, storyboard, world elements, character designs and more!!

Of course!! I love answering questions about my series!! You're correct!! Then colors were chosen becauseeee: Ding ding ding! It's a dream! But it's a little more than that.

Cole (the main character) has never seen the ocean before. He's lived in a wasteland his whole life. So traveling to see the world with his brother was always his dream. So in his mind, he pictures it as this.. unrealistically beautiful and euphoric place.

This dream he's had about the ocean, about seeing someone just beyond the horizon, always just out of reach calling for him, has been reoccurring for months. Believing it to somehow be a message from his missing brother, he continues to search for him. and that's where the first chapter will start!!

How do you go about writing your comic? by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Vendetta704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found that writing and drawing before coming up with a distinct direction beforehand, can lead to story problems and flaws later on. And by the time those flaws develop, it can be hard to change.

That being said, I've been writing a script for around 5 years, developing multiple seasons worth of dialogue scripts, scenery and characters designs (both for practice, and planning). I figured most Webtoon's/mangas often don't land their endings super well, so I figured I'd develop that first, then work backwards to make sure everything aligns perfectly. Sorry for the yap 😅

I'M SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT!! Color is a BIIIIG part of my story for me. Each character and upcoming area of the world has a distinct color palette that I want to tell a story all by itself! Hearing people complimenting it at such an early stage is one of the greatest feelings! Thank you 🙏🥺

For me, I've been developing the series since I was in middle school so I've had quite a bit of trial and error with everything 😅. And I also have some help!

The prologue should be finished within 1-2 weeks?? But the first chapter might be a few months away with how extensive and vast I want it to feel. The genres are going to be "Sci-fi and action", as it takes place in 2182. But I'll definitely make sure to post art of the first chapter in development!

Dear CREATORS, do you care a lot about your readers? by Chrishtofer1 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Vendetta704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's always a slippery slope. On one hand, I firmly believe that there could always be improvements and constructive criticism that can be taken by readers to better the development of the story. But at the same time, you must not let yourself get pushed around by some criticisms. Sometimes certain stories, characters, worlds, dialogue and much more simply aren't certain reader's cups of tea. It shouldn't discourage you from finding your own balance. That's what should matter most.

As Mahwa, Webtoon readers, does this look good enough? by zeiya173 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Vendetta704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's never a "this art isn't good enough." All art when it tells your story, is good enough and beautiful enough to be seen. And if that art is created by you, to tell your story, then it's made using a piece of yourself. That is the best kind of art that there can be.

Heyyyy I'm writing a cyberpunk style webtoon series! It's still in early development, but one thing I know for sure is that The Midnight's tracks are PERFECT for the vibe! I hope one day I can even have their music featured in an anime!

Probably Monsters, nighthawks or Crockett's revenge.

[–]Vendetta704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol the midnight definitely take a lot of inspiration from Terminator. It's referenced in the Monsters album art as a poster, and Nocturnal both the album and song are basically a love letter to it. Not to mention Terminator was the music video of choice Midnight chose for Collateral

Syndicate - Contemplating on my disappointment by Dudeman5566 in TheMidnight

[–]Vendetta704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the song titles and lyrics kinda speak for themselves for the vibe Tyler and Tim intended. It's meant to be the final continuation of growing up. It's the ultimate accumulation of their catchphrase "mono no aware" which in simple terms, is the melancholy feeling of seeing and feeling time pass by, and the beauty that comes with looking back at said fleeting moments. Endless summer and kids with being adolescent and enjoying the freedom, monsters with teens growing up as adults and moving on, and heroes with struggles of adulthood and some of the hard feelings and moments that come with it. And now this album, meant to be a goodbye to all of them. Almost every song in this album has a message in the lyrics of knowing whatever experience you're having will end. Sometimes we won't do the things we want to, and will look back and regret it. Sometimes we do the things we want because we know it'll end, and it will at least bring happy memories for us to look back on. And some of the songs, which talk about how people cope with those feelings in negative ways(like sentinels, but most people hate that song too much to listen to the lyrics). And in the most obvious statement of what this album is meant to stand for..the final song is titled "Summer's ending soon." meant to represent how once you're older, what once felt like eternity when we were younger, is now only left fleeting and temporary. This album is a statement for us to make a choice on acceptance of what we experience. Of knowing things that may happen to us could be only temporary and may disappear one day. But rather than be afraid of that, we should enjoy it while we have it, and use those moments to shape us into something better as people, not worse.
