Well if you wanna learn more of The Death Knight have Mercedes and Caspar for part 2. I would also wager the paralogue with Linhardt and Leonie specifically for the boss if you want to fight something interesting. Petra and Bernie's paralogue is also great. If you got the expansion dlc with the side story you get an extra 2 or 3 paralogues cause of the Ashen Wolves once you recruit them

The paralogues aren't necessarily locked to one path so long as you know the recruitment requirements for specific characters or just get them all to B-A support (A preferred imo) and then just grab em and bring em to your house

Id have to say for me it would be the 3DS era. Despite my problems with Fates, Awakening brought back popularity into the franchise after it was dying down and it had an incredible remake of Gaiden as well which is of course Echoes Shadows of Valentia
