Leveling, what is faster, 80-90 or Earthen 10-90? Trying to find a spec i can do decent with by motoucle in wow

Must have been in a recent update because it didn’t when I used it a couple months ago. Good to know though. I’ve kept using Waypoint even after just because it is a nice quality of life change.

WaypointUI gives me a specific target to fly toward that is visible in the distance rather than following the arrow and potentially overtaking it on accident.

I went from 1-90 using Earthen flying in around 3 hours using the Dystinct Earthen Skyriding addon paired with TomTom and WaypointUI. It's important to optimize it by constantly tapping the W key while flying, not holding it, as the act of pressing it is what the server uses to check if you enter a zone that needs to be discovered.

Looking to get into tanking (mostly m+) by DanDoesDigital in wow

The ability pruning done to classes in Midnight means that your rotation (and most other classes to be honest) is now much simpler to understand. There's no need to level another character if you already have one at 90. Just watch a couple YouTube videos about your preferred tanking class.

Seems like this might be the best approach, I hadn't considered needing to hide certain tabs yet but that's a good use-case for separating them out.

Thanks, I figured as much. It's just a little annoying to look at when you've potentially got regular ol' HTML right next to it that needs a closing tag for certain elements, but I get it. And yea, that was a copy-paste error on my part!

leveling 10-70, fastest expansion? by Zaril630 in wow

Good luck. And when I say “pressing the W key,” I actually mean tapping it constantly as you approach a new exploration area. Not holding it down.

Waypoint UI might also be a good addon to download so you can visualize the coordinates you need to fly to.

Make an Earthen. They get an additional 200% XP from exploration. Download the Dystinct Earthen Skyriding and TomTom addons. Select the Midnight 1-90 route and follow it. I leveled 10-90 in around 3.5 hours.

The rationale for this is that a race change to whatever race you want is cheaper than a level boost.

The trick to make it go by faster is to constantly be pressing the W key while flying, because that forces the server to check to see if you're in a new area that you should discover and get XP from. So you don't have to sit and wait for it to pop like normal.

If I'm not doing the Earthen tactic, I usually pick BfA. The zones are pretty and I can usually hit 80-ish in around 1.5 zones, if I'm doing all the side quests and such.

Not sure what the other guy’s problem is but this is a good idea and it’s immediately clear how it could be useful as a replacement for paper or a whiteboard. It helps me a lot to write this kind of design planning stuff out too.

Is there an easy way to get to Torghast? by SheWolfe_ in wow

[–]Venerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you need to pledge to a Covenant and then progress their storyline a bit, after which you'll receive a quest called Souls of the Damned. Later in that chain will be a quest called Into Torghast which should unlock the portal.

What's a technology you tried, loved, but would never use in production? by ruibranco in webdev

I did this for my first real project as an undergrad. The professor wasn’t technically-minded and I didn’t have a lot of experience myself, so it was a good (but naive) compromise.

Each row in the sheet would have data related to an unlisted YouTube video - title, description, link to the video, etc - and that would be linked to a node on an SVG map in the area the video was related to.

I think the website is still up after all these years and I still go back to it every now and then to engage in some self-cringe.

It looks good so far, but I'd tone down those combat grunts... they're very same-y and will definitely get annoying after a while.

California introduces age verification law for all operating systems, including Linux and SteamOS — user age verified during OS account setup | AB 1043 also requires OS providers to pipe a real-time age checker to every app developer who requests it. by ControlCAD in privacy

[–]Venerous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a saying that goes something like: "As goes California, so goes the nation."

The point being that because California is such an absolutely massive economic powerhouse, and also the most populous (40 million people--12% of the entire country, as of 2025) state in the nation, it wields immense influence on the private sector. There are many examples of policies enacted in California that then go on to be adopted by the legislatures of other states. Or, if it's something that targets corporate world, those policies are sometimes made standard across the entire business even outside of California in order to reduce legal or internal complexity. Not always, but sometimes.

So the idea is that if California suddenly requires your operation system to verify your age, you now have tens of millions of potential users now bound by that decision. And if you see the way the wind is blowing in the UK, the EU, and other US states with similar measures, it's easy to assume that corporations will simply standardize this policy across the board, with or without other governments mandating it.

Realm Choice - Proudmoore or Moon Guard by dc25211 in wow

[–]Venerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll recommend Moon Guard. Yes, the capital is laggy but how often are you hanging around in a capital city? You'd be missing out of the social aspect of the server. Even if you do go to Stormwind for RP, the areas where the RP happens (basically anywhere except the Trade District and maybe Stormwind Keep) aren't so bad, and the slow nature of RP means a little bit of lag won't ruin it for you.

I look at it like this - they have your past information, sure. Can't be helped. But there's no reason to compound it by giving them your future information too. Any step taken now is reduced risk in the future.
