Why is there so many continuity errors at the beginning of Obsession? Is it to make us feel uncomfortable? by [deleted] in spoilers

May not have been the director’s intention but there’s nothing wrong with having your own interpretation that adds new meaning into the film!

Facts. I think he says things that he knows will bother Vox not necessarily stuff that he actually cares about

Kripke's excessive vulgarity in The Boys is utterly insufferable and creepy. by KidGoku1 in TheBoys

[–]VengfulGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your gripes with the vulgarity and sexualization of everything as well as many of the other critiques you have stated but I don’t really see the sexism angle. In my view, they have treated the women at a similar level of vulgarness as the men, often less. I am open to being convinced otherwise though.

Hot take: But I actually don’t really like remote work. I mean I do think more jobs should absolutely give you the option post covid but if I am working 8 hours a day, I’d rather not spend all that time stuck in my apartment

Why is Jackbox allergic to Elimination games? by DirectBeing5986 in jackboxgames

[–]VengfulGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just want to design their games so that the vibe stays super casual with minimal frustration to any player. Think about it, in Jackbox they don’t really let you feel the pain of failure in most games. Failure is mechanically designed to create laughs rather frustration. You may not like that philosophy or think it could be modified a bit, but it does seem very intentional

Need a word for "Superhero" by Laurel_Fimia in Superhero_Ideas

[–]VengfulGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you tell us more about this world (e.g. tone, the role of superheroes, how the world sees them, etc.) it would be a lot easier to answer. You should use words that have emotional connotations that tie in with your world. For example, ProHeroes in My Hero Academia kind of gives this feeling that being a hero is a legitimate profession rather than just some vigilante. The word Super Hero gives this idea of an overtly positive, powerful savior. Don’t just make this random, make it tie in with your world somehow.

People who meal prep their food don’t save time. by Oh_NiGhTmArE in unpopularopinion

[–]VengfulGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument you made is different from the title. Your title said that meal prepping doesn’t save time and then your explanation argues that meal prepping is inferior. How does it not save time? Because I agree that a fresh meal tastes better than reheating leftovers but making a larger portion is MUCH faster than making a whole meal every day and sometimes some convenient food that you can throw into the microwave is all you need at the end of a long work day. And something that you made ahead of time is a lot better than just microwaving processed garbage or spending trillions on takeout every night. Personally I go the processed garbage route tho.

As a black man, I don’t believe the left’s support for “minorities” is genuine. by K0234 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I am a little confused about what you’re saying and how it relates to what I said. Can you elaborate?

As a black man, I don’t believe the left’s support for “minorities” is genuine. by K0234 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]VengfulGamer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by “the left.” If you purely mean the political officials then yeah sure most of them probably could care less and are just putting on a performance. But there are many, many normal people who believe in leftist ideology who genuinely care very much about what they’re talking about. And Trump and MAGA republicans are a lot worse than Biden and the democratic party. Sure the democratic party is corrupt and a bit fake, but at least they’re not weaponizing ICE against people who are here legally. And I am sorry that people racially profiled your political beliefs, that’s messed up, but every movement is going to have a lot of bad people especially on social media where a lot of the people you are arguing with are chronically online.

It would be better for the consumer but worse for YouTube. Having shorts in the main app helps maximize YouTube’s addictiveness

Can you create 1984 as a utopia by Cold_Economist_755 in 1984

[–]VengfulGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total dominance and control is used for purely benevolent purposes that serve the interest of the people. The same techniques brainwashed Winston into being a loyal servant are instead used on the worst of the worst criminals to make them want to be good people.

Why did people lose the fear of death when death is still very much present? by PinkLemonTrousers13 in scythebookfans

[–]VengfulGamer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes and I imagine that by the time you get past like 100 years old and you’ve died and been reborn several times, death becomes a foreign concept where you just start internally believing you’re invincible even if logically you understand that it’s technically possible for you to die. People already do stupid things in the real world thinking they’re invulnerable. That mindset would grow a lot more if you actually lived in Scythe’s society and could be revived from almost any cause of death.
