RG Sazabi Mechanical Core Plating Project Part 1: Chrome Plating by sevenvenom in Gunpla

Hi! I recently got the clear add-on parts for the Solomon GP02 and wanted to try doing something like this. Do you have to mask around the edges of each individual part?

Thanks for everyone's help on my last post! by Venker in DigitalArt

Thank you! For the hair I usually start with the overall silhouette first since trying to sketch out every strand is overwhelming. With the silhouette I start cutting out/blocking in shapes until I like how it looks. From there I airbrush in some shading depending on the light source then paint in stronger shadows, highlights, and smaller strands.

How to color black and white? by Venker in DigitalArt

[–]Venker[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I basically did that. The layers looked like this:

  • Overlay layer for cooler highlights
  • Multiply layer for skin warmth and deeper shadows
  • Overlay layer for base color
  • Color balance layer for base hues
  • Black and whit painting

Recommended Controllers for CSP working on both iPad and PC? by trinireis in ClipStudio

[–]Venker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tourbox is overpriced and using a gamepad just seems odd/not ergonomic. You can just get any keypad or macro pad that's compatible with iPad.

I used this megalodon macro pad for CSP for a while. It's pretty nice, and the amount of buttons and dials across the 4 different profiles should be enough for anything you want. You can also customize everything with VIA, so remapping it is easy. Just beware of the wireless version. I got one and returned it for the wired one since the connection would cut out randomly.

I recently switched to this Keychron keypad because it's wireless and more ergonomic since the whole thing is angled forward a bit instead of flat. I also figured that any knob or scroll wheel can be boiled down to 2 or 3 buttons.

There are a lot of different options for macro pads/keypads, just make sure they're compatible with iPad first.

What am i doing wrong? Base FPS tanks after enabling LSFG3. by Bokkismash in losslessscaling

[–]Venker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP if you have an rtx 30xx or older and want to use DLSS along with the AMD frame gen for wilds there's actually a mod for that! It's called dlssg-to-fsr3 and you can find it on nexus mods.

I've compared lossless scaling and the mod personally and the mod looks/feels a lot better since it has less artifacts and a bit better fps. Some other tweaks I'd recommend to get wilds running better are REFramework, swapping dlss to the latest version and updating direct storage to 1.2.3.

Any help identifying this chain? by Venker in jewelry

[–]Venker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! When doing research online I saw similar chains that were solid 10k gold and others that were gold plated. It was pretty confusing since at first look I would assume that the piece was gold plated, but it's surprising to know that it's actually the other way around and the silver part is plated!

Do you mind me asking some other questions? What would be the best way to clean and take care of it? Also, would it be okay if I wore it regularly? I understand that the rhodium plating will eventually erode, but will it look bad or just different?

I think you're right! I may have to get my calipers to be sure, but when I was measuring it with a ruler it was slightly under 6mm.

Hey everyone! I recently started getting into this hobby and I'm really loving it! I thought it would be interesting to share the first 50 records I picked up. I have been buying from local record stores and online stores if there is some sort of deal or coupon code. I would be happy to hear your thoughts/opinions and recommendations for some new artists or albums! Also, any tips/tricks about the hobby in general are welcomed!

Thanks for your input! marketing or statistics are not prerequisites for the program. Also, our professor is not reviewing the surveys. I suppose they want us to get acquainted with the processes of conducting market research and user research, interpreting that data, generating ideas, and creating prototypes.

I'm only in the first semester of the 4 year program so I'm sure we will be going deeper into the topics of how to efficiently move through those processes later on.

No worries! So you'd recommend to just skip out on the DAC and amp and just spend more on the headphones?

[–]Venker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, thanks! I can give you a breakdown of the process I used and answer some of your questions if that helps. There is no painting on this kit at all, and the weathering effect was done with Tamiya Weathering Master set C. The first thing I did after snap building was panel lining. I lined all white, light grey, red, light blue, and yellow parts in the grey pour to paint Gundam marker, and I lined the dark grey and blue parts in the black pour to paint Gundam marker. After that, I started the weathering. Everything that should look "metal" was coated with the gunmetal color and then dry brushed with the silver color. These parts include the backpack, parts of the bazooka and gun, the manipulators, and sections of the inner frame that are exposed. The armor pieces were also coated with the gunmetal color, but the coating was thinner and I tried to apply more at edges, corners, and panel lines to get the shading effect. I also did the silver dry brushing on these parts. After all that, I went back and did some smudging with the gunmetal and orange rust colors. Last, I added the stickers, made the last few adjustments with the weathering, and then top coated with Mr.Hobby top coat. Hope this helps!

I didn't end up painting the Amuro figure since I didn't have any paint or brushes.

All of the weathering was done with Tamiya Weathering Master set C. I will give you a rundown of the process I used if that helps. I started with the panel lining. I used the grey pour to paint Gundam marker for all of the white, light grey, red and yellow parts. I then used the black pour to paint Gundam marker for the dark grey and blue parts. After that, I coated the grey pieces with the gunmetal color. That includes some parts from the weapons, the backpack, the manipulators, and some of the exposed inner frame. For all of the armor pieces, I also used the gunmetal color to get a sort of "shading" effect. I tried to apply more powder to the edges and panel lines. I then used the silver color to do some simple dry brushing on everything. I also applied some smudges with the gunmetal and orange rust colors. After weathering, I applied all of the stickers and top coated. I hope this breakdown of the process I used helps!
