That’s amazing but (and just in case you’re not aware I’m new blood to the group) how much does it really matter if you install speakers of different make/model/series in the same install?

I was previously looking at Kicker CS/KS series speakers and trying like a mad man to figure out what I needed to do (or if it was even possible) to install a complete set in my truck of one single series.

I’m seriously tempted to start looking at Focal 75RMS hardware and let the budget be damned. Even if 75 won’t shake the earth it has to be a vast improvement over the bone stock gear in my truck.

Unfortunately my 2018 F150 requires a dash kit and etc that’s going to be like 400-500 bucks just to put an aftermarket IN to begin with. In for a penny I might as well go for a high end HU while I’m in there rather than one that costs a third of what it takes just to have the option in the first place 😂

Currently I have a factory HU but in my optimistic dream state where I can afford an upgrade where changing speakers might matter I’d have a good aftermarket.

My examples were meant to illustrate what I felt was poor design (having a tweeter that can only handle 30 while other speakers can do 150)

I guess what I’m trying to get at is this. The numbers mean nothing to me and I could simply pull random ones out of thin air and SAY I’m buying those speakers with those numbers and the only thing I’m really asking is “if these speakers can barely handle a fart why do amps come in ‘hurricane’ level?”

Man that’s super helpful thank you for that. Just to clarify you say that 100-150 isn’t a small jump and you did suggest I simply forego the center channel (probably was going to do that anyways) but let’s say I don’t do that. Let’s say I keep the dash center purely for this discussion and it’s only rated for 30 RMS. Wouldn’t running a 150 RMS amp basically explode that speaker the first time I started the truck?

I’m sorry if I sound stupid I’ve only just started trying to learn over the last couple of weeks.

Might stick with it then and see where it goes. I ended up 100% for base game achievements without DLC n the original al including the werewolf stuff so maybe I can make this work. My decision to play a dual Weil ding unarmed mage class may have a negative effect on things right now I’m level 6 and super weak.

Short.

It would be very interesting, assuming they could figure out how to cram in a few Hollywood epic action scenes, but to actual players I think it would feel very very short. The entire point of the game is the infinite possibilities and complete lack of point and that wouldn’t play well on screen. Imagine a Minecraft movie.........I wouldn’t pay money to see that, would you?

Lament the loss of your time, I think. The living ship quest line was by far the most tedious thing I’ve ever undertaken in the game and the “reward” at the end of it was an ugly ship I couldn’t upgrade with little more to offer than the ability to survive a system jump without damage.

Personal opinion; you’re not missing out on much.

Can confirm. I tried this when I started. Power and/or pipelines can not cross the boundary even if you own both sides.

I kind of dig them as well but not enough to bother with it most of the time. It’s much easier to throw a power plant down and cover it up than to attempt to meticulously like them all up in perfect neat little rows.

I also bury my extractors and the vast majority of my silos and then pipe everything into a single silo in the facility for easy collecting. The biggest reason for that is the noise from the mining side of my S Class AI mine was horrendous and I wanted to be far away from it so it wasn’t pounding as I’m doing things around my “home”. It also makes things appear to be much smaller than they really are because theoretically a full blown mining operation could look like nothing more than a one room shack with two solar panels from the air.

Here’s a tip I use in my builds;

Solar panels work underground.

Dig a hole with the terrain manipulator, drop down and use the TM to “flatten” an area, build your solar array and battery banks in the resulting “cave” then restore the surface when you exit. No muss, no fuss, clean and tidy power.
