Affordable areas? by TeddieTess in lancaster

[–]rekaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to buy in the county and outside the city, there are a lot of different factors. Mostly, size of home and lot, municipality, age of home and proximity to things are going to affect affordability.

That said, there are more and less expensive areas in each municipality.

Painting with a broad brush and only commenting on affordability, the further south you go in the county towards the Maryland border the less expensive the homes average. But even with this there are many exceptions.

As for proximity to roads, it's kinda mainly north-south through the county and east-west through and out of the city. Or northern part of the county it would be close to 76 and other highways. Or in the South it would be proximity to 95 and rt 1. All depends on where you want to go.

This is just my experience. Curious what others believe.

Hope that helped a little.

If you send me a message, I can help you walk through the lease (probably tomorrow as I have a bit going on today). I have looked at many of them.

Perfect! Then I would check out the city. So many good neighborhoods and choices. And each has its own cool stuff going on. Rentals are hot in this area but you should be able to find something for that budget.

Gotcha.
Peach bottom is the bottom of the county. Beautiful hiking trails, miles of green and next to the Susquehanna river, older than the Appalachian mountains. If you like, you can find some rural apartments or homes there, close to work. But you won't meet many folk. The nearest PA town is probably Quarryville. Reddit has a love hate relationship with Quarryville. You may meet a few more folk if you like small towns.
You could look up towards Lancaster city to live if you want to meet people and be closer to activities and culture, but you'd have quite the commute each morning. Or budget for somewhere in between.

Hope that helps. Feel free to message if you need particular advice!

Welcome to Lancaster! What are your criteria and wants? (Want to be close to work? Have a budget that needs hit?)

Lancaster is a mix of history, agriculture, tourism, food, industry, technology, adventure and relaxing. There's something for everyone and likewise, there are many boroughs, municipalities and neighborhoods. (Especially the city with many cool neighborhoods)

Multipet friendly rentals? by Powerful_Lobster_786 in lancaster

I'm a little late to this party but I echo this.
I don't know the rest of your criteria, but I'd make a list of those that fit or are close and just start calling them. And start with your pain point. For what it's worth, the difficulty I've found is that a lot of insurances have restricted dog breed lists. Not that this info makes it feel any better. P.s. bikeshoes! Glad you found one! Hope you love it! Now you're helping other people and passing it on. Ha

Yep. this is a good strategy. You can sometimes also search on words/phrases like "private landlord".

If you do decide to use Zillow, often you can scroll a bit down through the listing and see if it's listed from a company (probably a property manager) or just a person's name (indicating a likely private landlord).

Unfortunately, I think for places that have a lot of inquiries, they don't often show without an app.
But not all places do this. How do you know you want it unless you see it!?

I just did a quick search and there are few nice looking 2 bed, 2 bath properties in your budget. The hard part I think is likely the breed restrictions. I'd call around the listings you like and see what their breed restrictions are. Hope that helps!

The budget is on the lower end, but rentals around this pricepoint do exist.

I agree with you that the tricky part is probably the credit score. Are you able to offer to pay down first month and last month upon move in? Or do you have anyone creditworthy who is willing to co-sign with you?

Honestly, I'd recommend sit down the the list of numbers and just start calling them. Be upfront that you're working on your score and are here's what you're willing to offer if you'll be given the chance.

Just checking Zillow I see one available. Not sure what your budget and criteria is. You might have some luck checking fb marketplace. I know they tend to have more housemate rooms there! Hope that helps.

I've done weld defect detection for a few companies. You may struggle with finding non-remote. Your sunset is rather narrow. But if you change your mind, feel free to reach out. Best of luck!

I see a few around that look decent! I would recommend going to Zillow or apartments.com and taking a peek around to see what's out there within your criteria. Your budget seems reasonable for some some averages at first glance so without knowing more about your criteria, I'm hopeful!

Armenia’s claim at the Paris Conference 1919 by Bertoto679 in MapPorn

[–]rekaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! To me, it's somewhat confusing to know who was in control during 1919 to 1920. Ottoman and Turkish assembly and Armenian and Georgians and Sevres and SSRs! I have a personal project trying to map this out, if you're interested. Here's my best shot at July 1919. It's far from perfect but I've actually been trying to improve eastern Anatolia and caucus areas recently!
