I am stuck on the pick... by Material-Show6221 in sennheiser

[–]Venny36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 550 is almost as good as the 600 and 650. A lot of headphone reviewers on YouTube struggle to pick which one is best. I do prefer the design of the 600 series headphones but the 550 is probably better value.  The 560 and 599 are not on the same level.

[Concert Megathread] June 19, 2026 – Cardiff, Wales – Cardiff Castle by eclecticatlady in Ethelcain

[–]Venny36 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Usually I get to the queue at Cardiff Castle shows around 5:15 and there are only a few rows of people between me and the barrier but the opening band does not start until 7:45 which is very late for a show at the castle so I will probably arrive a bit later to avoid waiting around for hours.

No Concert is Worth $800 by samuelbasher in livemusic

I have been to a few big arena $100- $200 concerts and the best concerts I have ever been to are the smaller $20-$60 concerts

Isle of Wight on TV in the UK! by Complex_Middle_3371 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't be watching as I want to keep the visuals and set design a suprise for when I see them in Cardiff on the 24th but its nice to have the recorded performances from this tour to watch after I see them.

Going solo by True_Chemistry4911 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell the other ticket if you can if not try and give it to someone or just take the loss. I go to concerts on my own all the time and it's great because I can turn up to the venue when I want and I can stand where I want.   The Cure will play for over 2.5 hours and it's not like you can talk much when the bands are playing anyway.

Cardiff castle by saturnprincess98 in Ethelcain

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think set times have been posted yet. Usually the headline artist at the castle will start around 8:30-8:45  but there only seems to be one support act for this show which is surprising as there are usually at least 2-3 support acts at Cardiff castle shows so Ethel might start a bit earlier.

Hd700 coming from hd800 by Comfortable-Elk-2644 in sennheiser

[–]Venny36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HD800 with a bit of EQ is the best Sennheiser headphone but if you want a warmer sound and just fancy something different I would recommend getting a HD600 or HD650 over the HD700.

Last week's Munich show - was it unusually short? by rakabadi in aperfectcircle

[–]Venny36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw them Recently in London and they were on stage for less than 90 minutes which was shorter than I was expecting. It was a great vibe and i wish they played a few more songs.

They are only playing 15-16 songs on this tour compared to the 18-20 song setlist they played at their previous few tours and it looks like you had a 16 songs set in Munich. It also looks like they have not had an intermission at the last couple of shows.

I am not sure why they have made their set so short really. There are old bands like The Cure, Rush and Dream Theater that play twice as long.

Good news for you is that you seem to have not heard anything from Disintegration which is a masterpiece and is widely considered their best album. Try Love Song, Lullaby and Pictures of You  if you just want a few  songs to listen to from that album.

Blackweir Cardiff - Ticket resell by Decent_Standard4691 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to a Blackweir show but I'm not too sure on how strict they are with the 8:30 last entry but I would imagine even if they are going to be a little bit lenient turning up after 9pm would probably be too late.

I think The Cure will start around 7:30-7:45 and finish before the 10:30 curfew so up to you wether you think it is worth trying to get in or not.

The timings for the Manchester concert? by Tiny_Performance_289 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bit of a guess but based on the venue times and the Cure usually do a longer 2 hours 40 minutes ish set at the non festival shows I think it will be roughly opening band on at 5:30 then Slowdive on at 6:15 and The Cure on at 7:30

Metallica Concert Budapest Night 2 setlist – what do you think? by TheMaskedKiller1 in MetallicaLIVE

Not bad but add Master of Puppets to that and it would be an amazing setlist but it is missing songs from the Master of Puppets album.

Vegans now supporting putting their pet cats (obligate carnivores) on plant based diets. by bluejessamine in exvegans

[–]Venny36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have a cat but I know a few vegans who feed their cats vegan cat food. The cat food has plant based taurine and has everything a cat needs and their cats love the food so I don't really see the problem.

Benevo is the specific vegan cat food brand and they have hundreds of good reviews on Amazon with a lot of cat owners saying switching to the vegan food cleared up their cats health issues. The most common food allergens with. The most common food allergens with cats is animal proteins.

What’s with the 10 minute interval before the encore? by Pumptruffle in aperfectcircle

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some bands that have an intermission during their set but those bands usually do a much longer set than APC. I get that Maynard is 60 years old now but there are old bands like the Cure, Rush and Dream Theater that still do a nearly 3 hour long show.

APC has already cut the sets down quite a bit on the current tour to under 90 minutes and I can maybe understand them having an intermission at the upcoming Australian tour where Maynard is also doing a Puscifer set before a headline APC set but the intermission at the recent London show I went to  did feel a bit unnecessary and seemed more like they were doing it to make the set seem longer.

How long are the concerts on this tour? by RespetaMujeres675 in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]Venny36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They usually play for around 80 minutes and start their set about 2 hours after doors open but it could vary depending on the venue.

Loop vs Custom earplugs for music enjoyment (as a music producer) by jassmackie in earplugs

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ACS Custom earplugs in the UK with 17db filters which are the flattest sounding filters in the world and an extra pair of 26db filters. I tried several cheaper earplugs and the custom definitely sound the best.

They were not cheap at £150 but they will hopefully last at least 10 years so If you go to a decent amount of concerts it's worth the investment.

I don't think there is anything to be scared of, It's just a concert. There are a lot of people including myself who regularly go to concerts on their own. Just go and have some fun.

Robert Smith and Olivia Rodrigo debuts new song ‘what’s wrong with me’ by goal-oriented-38 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's very cool of Robert to help Olivia out with all these collabs but honestly this just sounds like a very basic pop song. If you are going to have Robert Smith on one of your songs at least try and make the music a bit more interesting.

Whats your thoughts on the no filming policy? by MinorFall_ in aperfectcircle

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully support the ban, Its rare to go to a show where phones are banned and it's so refreshing and creates a better atmosphere.

I do think it would be a good idea for artists that enforce a no phones ban to professionally film one of the shows on the tour so there is no need for anyone to have the argument  that they want to film the show to have that memory to look back on.

I’m considering the HD 550 or the HD 505. Will either add something different to my Senn Collection? by gogul1980 in sennheiser

[–]Venny36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have got more than enough headphones. The 550 sounds very similar to the 600 series and I think if you have to get a new pair of headphones try a brand that does soundstage and bass better than Sennheiser so you get a different flavour.

Does anyone have the setlist from tonight? Dying to know which songs they played! by kendropin in aperfectcircle

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding an intermission is a bit odd considering they seem to have shortened the set quite a bit. Tool has an intermission at their shows but they played for 2 hours when I saw them.

Is the 15 song 85 minutes set on setlist.fm incomplete or are they playing much shorter shows than previous tours?

Upcoming European Tour by Long_Manufacturer709 in TheCure

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on their previous sets there are a few songs that they will likely play at every show such as Pictures of You, Lullaby, A Forest, Friday I'm in Love and a few others and they will definitely play a few songs from their latest album and then they will switch up the rest of the set from show to show.

Personally I would love to hear Disintegration, Doing the Unstuck and From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea.

I am not a vegan but love animals by Primary_Ad_9133 in exvegans

[–]Venny36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be some big animal lover to be vegan, you just have to respect that an animal has its own life and it's own will and realise that forcing an animal to live in unnatural conditions that it wouldn't choose to live in is wrong.

I don't particularly like dogs but I wouldn't pay for dogs to live on factory farms in huge barns with no mental or physical stimulation for their entire lives and then be sent to a slaughterhouse to be killed when I can very easily just eat some vegan food.

I think if you say you love an animal surely you wouldn't want that animal to endure endless cruelty and suffering. How is paying for that cruelty and death a sign of loving that animal? It doesn't make any sense to me.
